1st job this morning and my injector wasn’t pulling. No worries. I have 3 fully built new replacements plus 2 repair kits. However i did have to shut my machine down to replace. Lightbulb in my head goes off to put the ball valve before the injector. Now next time an even easier repair. It was really just taking up space anyway.
Anybody else have a creative use for the ball valves besides a paper weight
i put my ballvalve right off the unloader and unloader block. I dont have a auto or remote inj shutoff/on. I dont have my hoses run thru a reel either. So, when Im at the point if rinsing, I just close valve, remove injector and put it into fresh water bucket. ive still got some trailer rearrangements to make, I jusy havent done it
I like the thought of putting it right off the unloader once i build a proper setup with an unloader block. My injector is the next in line now. I have a 10ft whip from unloader to my chem injector and chem storage. I used to plumb the injector right off the unloader😔. I read something here that made me realize the injector could back leach and ruin other things
Search “injector bypass” on here and read about how to build one. It’s simple and you almost made one inadvertently. They’re handy.
Ive read about them. Yes ball valves required. Since im only 4 gallon not concerned at the moment but will definitely have one on the 8 build
Im glad i made the post because i dont think i would have done what @Redjess had suggested for a long time. Thank you sir
You’ll be better served not having one, if effecincy is your aim.
Im not sure why having one affixed to the unloader would be problematic. Maybe you could enlighten me. It would seem to be nice to handle a blown hose or stuck injector or bad handle or so on and what not without having to shutdown. I stopped using the ball valve because you showed me it could be dangerous and i made this post because i was glad i could find a reason for it again (that i thought was safe).
I guess the use of it could be considered trivial as those issues dont happen all that frequently if you have good equipment and take care of it.
I’m talking about the injector bypass.
Understood. My bad. So you dont think the injector is restricting flow on higher volume machines or its negligible at worst case
Negligible. And who wants to walk to the truck to turn the valve. They have a remote for it, but when you use it you aren’t pulling water thru your injector.
Not me. And that would seem to ruin the injector prematurely. Thanks.
Soap tank is closest to the camera, injector is at the bottom left corner. A 1/4 inch in-line check valve keeps suds from siphoning back into the buffer tank (it will happen!). I really like this set up, even though I have to walk back to the trailer. I can adjust my DS mix by adjusting the knobs on the fly. I run 3 ball valves but the first one by the injector really isn’t necessary. When rinsing with soap nozzles, my injector is drawing water from the buffer tank. Shortest, straightest route to the soap tank seems to provide the hottest mix.
One three way valve would be a lot quicker and easier.
I am sure you hit the nail on the head as usual, but I really like the control I have with this set up. I literally turn both valves at the same time (one in each hand). Both valves wide open for vinyl. Water valve closed / soap wide open for brick, EIFS, etc… Soap valve closed / water wide open for rinsing. It doesn’t seem like I could get that kind of control with a single 3 way valve but I’m all ears. It’s a huge step up from where I started; batch mixing out of a 5 gallon bucket. I caught a glimpse of one of your remote setup builds from one of your videos but there were no model numbers for some of the parts. I’d rather build one of those but I don’t mind the exercise in the meantime.
When i made the thread i was picturing high pressure valves but didn’t say that. After seeing the pvc LP valves a great use i first experienced with them was the beer funnel. Grade school was fun!
Sheesh, you’ll sure make washing a house complicated.
This is where my new Titanium injector will come in. I should have a few in hand soon to test!
You serious, Clark?
