I’ve got a commercial customer that has had vagrants come through and urinate in the entryway of his business and has asked me to see if I can clean it. I’ve tried a couple chemicals But they weren’t able to remove the stains. He wants to rent a heated washer. Does anyone have any advice? I don’t want to loose the opportunity to learn and finish this job.
Not sure if this is serious or not… but I’d try a strong mix of hydrogen peroxide first, like 25-30% let it sit for 15-20 minutes and pressure wash.
It’s absolutely serious and thank you for the input I’ll try that out
Does it need a super strong pressure washer? Mine is a 2400psi DeWalt home Depot
Is it concrete? And is it human urine?
Sorry I chuckled at this a bit, asking if it is ‘human’. I guess there can be vagrant animals too😆
Lol. I assume it’s human but wanted to check because human urine, compared to cat or dog urine, is not very potent. Normally, it’s about 95% water.
It is human and it is concrete it’s been there for months possibly over a year.
What chems have you tried?
Clorox urine remover and simple green outdoor
AI says to use TSP🤷🏼
Can’t find anywhere that sells it in the form it’s most useful for this situation
I like @OhioFloMo’s suggestion.
TSP is usually in the big box stores. But if yours doesn’t have it, try the smaller mom and pop hardware stores.
You could also check out the F9 cookbook and see if it has anything on urine.
Urine is acidic, so to counter, try using a strong base. Spray a little hydroxide on there and let sit a little. Something like Purple power industrial has a pretty high content. Though it may be like gum, ie the stain you see that’s left when popping gum is actually the acid from someone’s mouth. May take several cleanings to remove completely.
