Unloader Sending Water to Tank

I replaced the switch. It’s all good now.

It happens glad you recognized it it. I keep 2 in the truck sometimes if you get in a pi ch you can pull the micro switch and clean it take some sand paper to it. You got a 50/50 shot. Make sure its pointed up otherwise sediment might drop into the switch

It just has a cheap fuel filter. 12v.

You might wanna put a water separator on it. If you use it everyday not such a big deal but if you just have it as option I would definitely think about it. Is it 12v or 110

Yes you can replace the filter all together

Not that it matters because flow switches and pressure switches can be used interchangeably with each other but they are designed different. A pressure switch uses a micro switch and is activated with pressure where as a flow switch is activated by gpm and uses a magnet inside of a brass plunger and cylinder. The plunger fits loosely inside of a brass cylinder so water can flow around it. There are fittings on each end because it’s inline with the flow of water. There’s a smaller cylinder on the side of the larger cylinder. You insert a probe inside of the smaller cylinder. That probe has two wires inside. In the end of that probe there is a small break between those two wires. Water flow pushes the plunger to the opposite end of the cylinder and the magnets causes the circuit to close or be completed. The flow switch is usually placed vertically so when flow is cutoff the plunger drops to the bottom and causes the circuit to open back up which shuts the burner off. One good thing about flow switches is they rarely go bad. You just have to clean off the plunger on occasion because metal particles can stick to it. Some pressure washer manufacturers choose to use flow switches and some choose to use pressure switches. In pressure washing both serve the same purpose though. I’m not that good at explaining stuff so hopefully that made sense.

Hi @sgb, the line question is a good one. My machine is garaged all the way across town so I can’t confirm for sure until I go over there. I looked at the manual for 30 minutes last night and still couldn’t figure it out. Thanks for you comment about the burner, I will have to do some testing on that when I get going again, but like I said, I don’t use it much. As @Firefighter4hire said, the black box is the pressure switch. Thanks for the advice to keep extra components on board. All of this will help avoid headaches down the road.

Hey @sgb, I finally got the trailer out of storage. The tube you mentioned coming out of the unloader is the one just on top of the blue pump in the new pic. It is also the really not dirty one coming back up in the bottom right of the pic and meeting up with the plumbing in between the two ball valves. What is this? The component in between the ball valves isn’t even shown on in the manual so I have no idea of what Northern Tool believes that to be. Thanks for your help. Trying to figure out what all this does. I might need to take it to Northern Tool and let them tell me.

I have no clue what that is for. Maybe some else here knows?
