Before plumbing my tank I tested out my Gen Pump unloader by pass today. I expected the water to shut off (or at least go down to a small stream) when I engaged the trigger. Instead, there was hardly a difference. The flow only slightly slowed down and kept dumping plenty of water. Oddly, the psi was reading normal operation at the end of line. What do you think?
I would remove the black hose for starters.
What pressure are you getting at the unloader?
Annnnd problem solved!
More than 1 no no’s there in regards to your plumbing!
Everything, besides the Barb you see at the unloader, is factory. What “no, no’s” are you talking about? There is only one issue, the other bypass lines are not capped off.
unloader should be mounted off pump and on a block. where are you bypassing to? if you’re feed connected to a tank or house spigot?
there is nothing wrong with how the unloader is mounted. The problem was fixed, it works fine.
it’s ok until something breaks. hopefully it doesn’t.
Dude, the machine is factory from pressure pro. The unloader is mounted the exact way the manufacturer has intended it to be mounted.
The unloader doesn’t need to be mounted on a block, but doing so definitely helps reduce stress, vibration, and weight on both the pump and the unloader. Since you’re only running a 4 GPM direct drive pump, I wouldn’t worry too much about it for now. When that pump craps out and you step up to better equipment, using an unloader block is strongly recommended.
corrosion will see to it the you can be wrong
Thanks for the helpful tip. I’ll take it into consideration.
No problem, I’m totally ok with you thinking that There was another issue but you sound like you’re good.
