Unloader and relief valve

Started up the washer and turned on the valve and water started to pour out of the relief valve. Does this mean the unloader is no good or the relief valve. The pump is a cat pump model 51 g. The unloader that’s on there has AP 550 on it. Does if matter if I use the same unloader or can I just get both parts

Could just be the relief valve… Once it fails it usually doesnt seat right again. I pull mine out and plug them up. Just be sure that you arent letting the machine run without the trigger pulled anymore because it can cause much more damage if the pressure has no where else to go.

A failed unloader can cause the pump to heat up and cause it to blow though. Put the unloader into bypass and see if it leaks when you have the trigger pulled

Check the O-ring. I found that to solve the problem when mine did the same thing.
