Does anyone have any experience with cleaning parking lots? I have the pressure/surface cleaning as well as debris management in the bag. However, does anyone have any experience with catch basins and outdoor sump pits? I see a lot of guys using vacuum trucks and 4 inch hoses. However I have a 3inch trash pump and a few 1000L IBC totes. I know there’s a bunch of sludge down. Here but if I dilute it with water can I get the job done? I’m very far from purchasing or making a low profile vacuum rig but in theory I believe this would work (provided I can prime the trash pump adequately at that angle). Any thoughts or advice? Good money if I can figure it out.

Where are you in the world, Tim?
Yup, looks like we got a metric user.
Canada. We like our nice round numbers up here! 1000L or 264.172 Gallons? Haha. I wasn’t lying when I told you chems suck. I dont even think we can get arm and hammer oxiclean ya’ll.

That sounds absurd but who knows. Seems like the further north you go on this continent the more ridiculous things become.
To your original question, are you asking about if people clean those pits out? If so, yes, you can clean them out and recover all of the contaminated water but then what would you do with it?
Pretty sure its discontinued in Canada. I haven’t been able to find it anyway…

Yes. The further north you go the more people want to hug the trees and can’t use common sense. Im a nature guy but the rules here are absolutely ridiculous. Anyway as for the basins. I’ll probably find a local disposal place that’ll take it and obviously I’ll charge accordingly. But theoretically I should be able to suck out of there with a trash pump right? Indoor and outdoor basins. Anything I need to look out for for those of you who have done this?
