Udor GKC 30/24S vs General GP TSF2021

I found out that I will need a new pump on the used unit I just bought to pair with Honda GX690. I bought a Pressure Pro B4070HGEA700 with 4@7000 (GP TSP1619 pump). I would like to use this opportunity to make a 8@3500 cold water machine out of it. I know there is one more thread from 4 years ago, but I wanted to hear some updates. Below is the situation:

  1. My unit has poly chain belt drive. Can Udor GKC 30/24S meant for belt drive be used for my unit with polychain?
  2. Udor GKC 30/24S at $840 from Spray Depot is about $200 more than GP TSF2021. Is Udor clearly a better unit or are they comparable?
  3. I will be using it for mostly surface cleaning and house wash with a 100-gal (perhaps 150 if I can find space) supply tank.

If anyone has experienced both or can tell me how long you’ve had your unit and how it’s been, I’d appreciate it. Thanks again.

I’ve had both. 2 generals that didn’t last 6 months without having to be rebuilt. Over a dozen udors with thousands of hours with no maintenance at all.

If you’re planning on running a small buffer tank like 100 or 150 gallons, you definitely want the Udor. Reportedly they can run dry for hours without issues.

On the other hand, I’m told that a GP will commit suicide in a spectacular way if you don’t sprint back to the truck the moment it starts surging (this is one of the things that keeps me in great shape, though). Better hope you’re not on a 2nd story deck when it happens!

Thank you both. Sounds like the Udor is a clear winner then. Surprised not a single GP owner vouched for their pump, but certainly makes my decision easier.

In defense of GP I have a few that cop a bit of abuse and they are still making $$
I’m so keen to progress to udor however.
I like feedback from folks that run machines hard and I listen

Lot’s of us run the GP pump and mine has been flawless, but then again, most of us aren’t putting 2,000-3,000 hours per year on them like William. If I was ordering a new machine tomorrow wouldn’t have any qualms about getting with the TSF 2021. I do like that you can run a little higher rpms on it to get more flow but most don’t need. But what the heck, for $200 more I’d probably get the Udor just to try and out of respect for William’s experience with them.

Where do you see the best price for this Udor?
