Not sure why but the hydraulic shops here aren’t interested in repairing water hose, I called several. Only the pressure washing supply was able to do it. I may have to get one of those kits.
Installed correctly, I honestly struggle to see how one of the field-repair fittings won’t outlast a crimped fitting. If you’re not diligent about getting a good fit and really cranking it on there, then you might be inviting trouble.
Make sure you’ve got a vice, some good wrenches, and a hacksaw on your truck if you plan on doing this sort of repair in the field.
The hydraulic shops in my area were only setup for truck hydraulic systems, which will use 4, 5, or even 6 wire hose. That’s probably why they wouldn’t deal with your hose.
