Nice work… those tiles are my least favorite… but these look great.
I agree. I always soft wash them first but it never gets rid of all the algae so up on the roof I go. At least it is rewarding at the end when the customer sees their roof and is totally blown away, then all the neighbors start calling.

So you softwashed then rinsed it with what? Saw the clean line… looks like a turbo or fan tip?
After the soft wash I pressure wash the whole roof with a turbo nozzle.
Yikes. I wouldn’t want to risk taking the coating off the tiles or removing the grout with a turbo. Softwash and let nature rinse it. Roof Treatment is what I would quote this job as… but. Just my opinion. If this roof had a coating, Warranty company wouldn’t back the warranty if this customer got a leak if they saw the coating was removed by a washer using a turbo on it. They would blame you and say you are responsible for the leak. In ATC I learned one good thing, cover my a**. Again, just my opinion
The problem is rain won’t take care is it. These roofs that are that bad the stuff sticks forever. I turbo them too, or use my mosmatic roof surface cleaner if it will do the job properly, I’ve been up on a roof with incredibly steep pitch last two days and it feels like I’m rock climbing with a grappling hook. I took a video last night down almost 8’ from the edge using my 79” lance with turbo nozzle. The work sucks big time but you charge for it. Worst part about this particular job is the house has no gutters and lots of plants underneath, so can’t use sh. Here’s some pics but the video is too big to load.
I agree 100%, if I could clean this with just chemical and not have to pressure wash it I definitely would, but because of how intense the algae is there is no way to do that. Also, here in Southern California we don’t get hardly any rain so the chemical would not wash off for a very long time. I have checked with multiple tile roof manufacturers and all of them say to clean with pressure washer at a lower psi. At the point of algae being this bad the customer doesn’t care about a roof coating, they only care about making a roof look like new.
