Me and my partner started up a pressure washing business and have all beginner equipment like a 2.5GPM washer. And I was wondering how we could utilize the fact we have two people properly to avoid having one of us standing around doing nothing. We do roof/house and gutter cleaning and other miscellaneous pressure washing.
With two people you can afford to pony up for a professional pressure washer if you plan on running a pressure washing business. 2.5 gpm is for washing cars or spraying off your patio at home, not a pressure washing business
I have to ask, how do you clean roofs? You have a 12v system?
First move would be âgetting rid of your partnerâ
Then you can start with a 4gpm belt driven cold water washer and go from there. A 2.5 gpm wonât get you moving
lol, I concur.
Split the 2.5!
Well, get a better machine ASAP. Probably at least a 5.5gpm.
If your washing a roof (and Iâll assume youâve got a 12v), then guy 2 is spraying water on plants/ground while guy 1 is spraying chems on the roof.
If youâre washing a house, guy 2 is doing property protection install/removal. In between (and weâll assume youâre using a downstream injector system), then guy 2 is either the ârun to the truck to flip the valve guyâ, or he should be walking around doing marketing to the neighbors.
Ultimately, youâre probably going to want 2 machines with downstream remotes to be fully effective with a 2 man crew.
On top of advice offered above,
Get a waterfed pole and when 1st side has dried guy 2 starts the window cleaning that you upsold.
Guy 1- knocks at door to meet customer and ask them close windows etc. In the meantime, guy 2 unrolls hoses and starts filling buffer.
Guy 1- takes pictures all around the property and checks for possible issues while also taping. In the meantime, guy 2 moves patio furniture and objects that need to be moved.
Guy 1- cleans out gutters while guy 2 wets plants and flowers.
Guy 1- starts washing while guy 2 sets up wfp.
Guy 1 does walkaround, checks everything is done right while removing tape and putting equipment away. In the meantime guy 2 finishes wfp, puts it away and puts stuff back the way it was while guy 1 makes sure everything is done to customerâs satisfaction.
Or something like that.
But for a 2 men crew with a 2.5 gpm:
Guy 1- goes buy a 4 gpm machine.
Guy 2- buys coffee to guy 1 to celebrate doing jobs 3x faster from now on.
Iâm getting a vibe he is in the UK or something, we donât use âproperlyâ here in the US much. I could be wrong, itâs been a long day.
I am going to start a business with a partner, join the forum, do no reading, then ask us to give them the key to 100 percent efficiency, which could be figured out just by literally doing the jobâŚ
Then thereâs thatâŚ
