There isn’t much in the way of Cedar Shake cleaning on the forum here. Does anyone know of a good forum where I can get more information? I’m trying to figure out how to price these. I have seen anywhere from $0.50 to $1.00 per square foot and I thought that was kind of high. Also, seeing what people are saying on oiling them or not, I’ve seen 50/50 split on this but most information is old. I think I should start with a sodium percarbonate then rinse, then switch over to an oxalic acid and then rinse 2-3 times. Am I on the right path here?
On Nantucket Island we used Cedar Wash mixed properly and apply. Then 40 degree tip and wash with lighter pressure. We always used a dual lance to adjust the pressure down for the softer cedar.
That was our method, all three companies out there used the same method. Can’t help with pricing as I was out of that loop.
