Truck washing (Soaps, Tips and Tricks)

I swore that truck was washed boss !

Hey @DisplacedTexan, I’m heading out to buy the wife a used Ram at the local dealer ,Any tips any tips buddy?
2018, Hemi, 25,000 miles , 24k.

If you plan to keep it for a long time then do yourself a favor and buy Chrysler’s lifetime warranty. That was my requirement when my brother wanted to buy a Jeep from me. It’s expensive but if you really intend to drive the wheels off of it then it’s absolutely worth it. His paid for itself within the first year when his external oil cooler cracked and one rear axle seal was blown out. My mom bought a Grand Cherokee brand new in '01 and bought the exact same warranty. That warranty put four new transmissions, a rear end and countless other small things on that Jeep in the 250k miles we had it. It had the 4.0 inline 6 so we never really had any engine troubles but everything else around it was pretty much junk.

Also, keep in mind that every vehicle will have some kind of quirk. My 2017 Silverado got brand new leaf springs on the rear at 2500 miles. There was just a tiny little pop at speeds 10mph and under when going up and down my driveway. It sounded like something binding for a split second then pop. Drove me crazy so I took it to the dealer I worked at and my buddy in service said there was a bulletin for it and it just needed to be washed and greased. He just put all new springs on it because we’re homies.

Nice! She’ll love those Ram boxes. They’re perfect for short people who just need to carry some small things without having to climb in the bed of the truck to reach them in a normal toolbox.

Gray color, it weird metallic flake, haven’t seen it on a sunny day yet, have to wait till may for that, Dang sun doesn’t shine much in the Arkansas winters.

Yep. I am, admittedly, not a Chrysler fan but they do have some cool things that nobody else has and lots of people like them so they cant be all bad. I’d absolutely love to have an older 5.9 Cummins with a standard transmission and 4x4 with a flatbed. And I like the old Mopar cars. For as much as I prefer GM, their classic cars just don’t catch my eye like the old Mopars do. The only GM car that I really like is the Chevelle. I’d take an old Challenger or Charger before I’d take a Camaro. It’s sort of weird, I know. And even though I give people a hard time for their Fords I’ll admit that when it comes to work trucks they are probably the best option. They seem to come standard with more work related options than GM or Chrysler though those brands offer pretty much the same stuff just as add ons.

Yeah that metallic gray will look killer when it’s all shined up and nice outside. I had my choice between a few trucks and almost went with the gray for mine but chose white because I love white vehicles and my buddy that I worked with had the exact same truck in that gray.

Yeah I’m not a mopar fan except my old 95 1 ton. I prefer a gmc. But it’s her truck and she pays for it most the time outta her Biz so :man_shrugging:

I can’t believe there is such a thing. And if there is is I can’t believe I’ve never heard of it.

As far as I know Chrysler is the only company that offers one. If I remember correctly the requirements are that the vehicle purchased must be four years old or newer and have less than 48,000 miles. It’s an unlimited time and unlimited mileage warranty for as long as the original warranty purchaser owns the vehicle. I don’t think it’s transferrable (could be, I don’t know) so it would really only make sense to purchase if you were dead set on keeping the vehicle for a long time or planning to rack up a ton of miles very quickly. I remember it being priced around $3500-4000 so it’s definitely not cheap.

Dang, it looks like they may not do it anymore as of late 2018. Here’s a link I found.

That’s crazy no wonder they quit offering it. I would have done that for sure. 4k is worth that easy. But if course they have to exclude the diesels and Ram Cab/Chassis vehicles

No kidding. I forget how much my brother was quoted for his oil cooler and axle seal but it seems like it would’ve been about 2/3 of what he paid for the warranty and he’s only owned it about three years now. Sweet little black two Jeep with all kinds of goodies on it. Borla exhaust, CAI, aftermarket LED’s, five matching aftermarket wheels, hardtop, metal locking glovebox and console, black interior. He plans to keep it forever and I don’t blame him.
