@Hotshot have you asked Chad if you could just buy the gun like you did with the Pressure Wash Store gun? I just emailed him and am waiting on a response.

This is what I asked:

Does Hydro-Chem sell just the gun, kind of like the Pressure Wash Store? I can source my own 1/4" tubing, reel, lance, cover for the hoses. If so, what would the price be?

I also tagged you in a facebook post regarding cover for your lines. It was something I was possibly going to do once I got the gun. Would 1.5" work?

He responded back.

We currently only sell the gun assembly with our outer hose and not separately.

In the future, once someone has purchased a set of our gun & hose assembly, we could sell them an extra hose OR gun assembly, but your initial order must include the whole set.

I think they are losing out on possible lost revenue here. I know I won’t use the vacuum hose, I’d probably go with the lay flat discharge hose like I posted above. And I am sure their cost on the 1/4" hose is more expensive than what we can source ourselves.

I wonder if you could change their minds if multiple guys asked them the same thing? Just be sure to inform them that it’s not that you don’t want to buy the hoses from them you just don’t care for the way the vacuum hose is setup. Get a hold of a lot of those guys on your rubber scrubber Facebook group and tell them to start asking for the gun only. If they’re able to sell replacement guns they should be able to sell just the gun upfront. The request probably just has to go to upper management to get it approved.

I asked that same question to Chad yesterday, Its supply and demand brother, And I found out that they machine their own parts on the 3 way soap check valve combo to make it fit their gun only. is what it is man. I’m sticking with my $225 gun for now , I bought 2 during the sale, Its $295 now. PWS does sell individual parts and only the gun itself, as was said by Alex in Wisconsin PWS.

Not likely man,Ppl are scooping them up like hot cakes, its only gonna cost more until its not cool anymore.

Im going this route for the protective jacket George. Ain’t digging the vac hose responses.

What is that stuff? Hope it’s Kevlar based or something tough.

Very good point. Might be a little light on the weave to be dragged around on concrete (assuming they drag hoses like we do)

It’s made of Mylar. Like Kevlar, it’s made by DuPont but apparently it is classified as a “Film” and Kevlar is an “Aramid”. They’re both used in a wide array of ways and both are popular in sailing for sailcloth. Bulletproof vests are often reinforced with Mylar. I agree. The weave seems a bit light. For $17 though it’s probably worth a shot.

Heck yeah, at $17 bucks, I would probably double up or even triple wrap it. Seems like there is plenty of stretch to do it.

That’s probably what I’d do too. Sean mainly washes on gravel lots so there’s a bit more give there than concrete.

By the way, I’m not some textiles nerd I just Googled that info. Somebody will read this in six years and start asking me about what fabric they should use for their whatever.

All that for $17? I predict 2 weeks out of it. I hope it works though for Sean’s sake. Hell I might have to move out there with him in the middle of nowhere if they don’t get a handle on this Coronavirus crap. Stuff’s spreading like like crazy. Or I can move to New Zealand with Muscle.

Do it. Y’all can split rent at his new shop and he’ll have someone to bring him to the light. You’ll probably lose some business though. Bout 300 people in the whole town LOL

Obviously, I’m not trying to say anyone deserves to die of any disease but I do believe in Karma and China has done horrible things to our planet. This is Karma and Mother Nature teaming up to get them back.

First case reported this afternoon Friday at 4pm, employer and employees all affected :joy:

I drink plenty of that, hoping it helps my immunity to it. My beer of choice.

Well unfortunately, we’ve all done our share. Stuff is sneaky though, no one knows they have it for a couple of weeks and by then they’ve been around a ton of people. Hoping all the SH I inhale will help, lol
