Truck Build- 3/4 Ton Silverado 8 Ft Bed

New Member here.
Full-time Automotive Technology teacher at a high school. Looking to get into pressure washing full time potentially.

Putting my first rig together for the truck. Essentially building it all on a skid so that it can be removed easily enough if I plan on upgrading/switching trucks. This isn’t my daily truck so I plan on making it my dedicated work truck for now. I’ve removed one of the side boxes to make room for the hose reels and I will use the boxes for storing misc. chemicals, parts, as well as my 12v inverter and switch panel.

So far the build consists of
4 gpm 4200 PSI washer
20’’ Whirl-a-way Surface cleaner
2-18’’ Eagle Stainless steel A-frame hose reels.
200’ of high pressure 1 Wire hose on reels (extra in the tool box)
250’ of Flexzilla 5/8
55 Gallon buffer tank w/ hudson valve
12V transfer pump to feed pressure washer from buffer tank

I will go ahead and add some pictures of the skid and the progress I’ve made so far. Looking for any input/design changes you all can help me with before I prep & paint the skid and mount everything down for the final time.

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Is the 250-ft of 5/8” Flexzilla for water supply? If so, that seems like twice as much as you’d likely need, but that of course will be completely dependent on your location. Several guys here run just a 50-ft and are fine in their areas. For me, I’m glad to have the 100-ft even though I don’t always pull it all out. I do keep an extra 50-ft in the truck just in case though.

Why no phone number or contact info on the truck decals?

Consider an exhaust deflector for your Honda engine’s muffler to be able to re-direct the hot air out the rear of the truck or perhaps even straight up.

Looking forward to seeing a finished product!

Thanks for the advice! Yard signs, door hangers, flyers, business cards and Facebook Ads are my primary way of getting my name and contact info out there so I decided to keep it off of the truck Magnet. I can always revise down the road if I find that there is a good number of folks looking for “drive by” contact info.

I know 250’ of supply is excessive but I plan on doing a lot of docks and decks where I may have a pretty good distance between the water source and the truck.

My advice.? More pics of that sweet Jeep back there

I know every area is different shoreline, but when we run into docks here, we need mile of pressure hose, not supply hose.

Don’t worry, I’ll be sure to include some of the Jeep in some of the final pictures! I’ve got an odd obsession with Wagoneers.
