Trash Pumps for rinsing

We have been using a 1 inch trash pump for rinsing and was wondering if there was any way of running a gas powered trash pump to bypass, Currently we have to allow water to continue to flow through the nozzle to stop the pump overheating.
If there was some way to return the water to the tank this would really help out.

Looking for something that we would not have to run back to the truck to switch over.
Hoping when we close the trigger it would automatically bypass.
