So I’ve recently started cleaning heavy equipment. The constant running is too much on my transfer pump, and I’ve burnt out two of them. One was brand new, and lasted about 15 minutes. I’m looking for suggestions on a transfer pump that can handle constant duty.
What are you transferring?
Clean water from my tank to my pressure washer. I was using a 1/2hp Drummond, but it just doesn’t hold up to constant duty.
Most pw pull their own water. Do you have a pic of your setup? What size is your pw? How much flow does your booster pump need to have? Is is 115v or 12v? You need to give us some more details.
Running off of a 110 generator. Pressure washer is only 2800psi. Was using a Drummond 1/2hp transfer pump. Worked great for doing residential, and vehicles. Couldn’t handle the constant duty for cleaning heavy equipment(excavators, dozers etc.). Gonna try 1/2hp from Superior Pumps. They say it’s designed for constant duty.
You need a different pressure washer, like a belt drive. You’re trying to feed a direct drive washer from a tank with a transfer pump. Been there, done that.
