Transfer pump

Getting tired of trying to move large puddles of dirty water with a p.w. what kind of pumps are you using to move dirty water?

I never used one but some guys here have said they had success with a sludge pump.

That’s what I use, but I still have to stop surface cleaning to do it which is tedious.

I use one, they work!!!

Gday Paul
I recently cleaned a 9000m2 or 96000 square feet multilevel carpark and had large puddles gathering in some areas that were too wide and deep for the 8gpm to chase away.
My little fire fighter (Honda gx 160 and impellor pump) had enough gpm to push a decent wall of water and clear the problem areas .
Downsides- its thirsty on the buffer tank and heavy hose.
Upside- cheap price, small footprint and multi-purpose.

Do you not have a large floor squeegee? You can clear some water out pretty quick with one and they’re dirt cheap. I picked mine up at a pawn shop for $5 and it was brand new. If you’re talking BIG puddles then you can go with the sludge sucker attachment or even just a 110v bilge pump but then you have to keep an extension cord on the trailer.

I use my leaf blower. It’s a beast. It will even move piled up dry mud/dirt.

Those little blowers are great. I want a cordless electric one that puts out that kind of volume but I’m not sure that exists.

They do now actually. Ryobi makes a Jetblower leaf blower I almost got. 12.5lbs vs 8lbs. My employee didn’t like the weight haha

Doesn’t the leaf blower method end up throwing dirty water all over causing you to spend more time time cleaning whatever it blew on after ?

It’s all about your aim. Same as anything lol

Grass is fine, I’m talking about the stubborn puddle that builds up on patios up against the house or something like that.

You must have a strong leaf blower! Some puddles are deeeeep. I don’t currently have the sludge pump

Yeah I’m expecting the offers to happen sooner or later.

Will it blow a car battery across a parking lot?

Get as much of it rinsed away as possible then use a shop vac to pick up the rest of you have to I guess.

Battery across the parking lot? That was the trick we used to do on customer appreciation days where we also showcased new equipment for the upcoming year. Handheld blower won’t do it, and most backpacks won’t either…but the backpacks known as “super blowers” will! Echo PB 770 and larger, Stihl BR 700 and larger, Husqvarna/Redmax 700/7000 series and larger etc.
For handheld blowers we used to “plank” or lay flat on our stomachs across a swiveling bar stool while holding the throttle on the blower wide open to see which would spin us the fastest. We were all grown men, but it was still comical to participate…er…I mean watch.

Lol I know. When I had my landscape business I went to buy some new backpack blowers one day and the guy at the Stihl dealership was bragging about how it would blow a car battery across a parking lot. I just looked at him and asked him why I would ever need to do that. The look on his face was priceless lol

I still bought three of them lol
