Trailer build suggestions welcome

You guys go hard on the vertically challenged.:sleepy::laughing: @Racer thanks any photos will help. I thought maybe putting something in slightly elevated my tools/guns off the floor of the box and drilling holes Incase my 12v springs a leak. I do agree with it looking cleaner inside of the box. I may just mount it on the outside of it with little holes for the wires going to the battery inside. I now have to research proper wiring. You guys are like the family I’ve never knew I wanted.

@PWP5gpm

this is basically the basics of it

Thank you sir! Let me know when you get your skyscraper build going. I think you can get more than 99 bucks per building but I’m still learning lol

Here’s my very first trailer with the big Dewalt box. Started out as a roof cleaner. Notice my HD special pw on trailer for doing sidewalks, lol. Great little honda machine though. Still have, probably has 250 hours on it. But the box was way bigger than you need. I’ll post pics of my little Rigid box I use for deck staining. It’s what you need. Plenty of room for a 12v and any size battery you want.

I’ve seen this photo floating around. The video of yours I saw a metal box from northern tool. I believe you said you had a tandem axle on the way in the video. I had a Lowe’s special all of 3gpm at the beginning of 2018. Thought I was doing something. It worked for the time being can’t knock it too hard. My pops has it now.

See how I left room for a drum of SH on rear that my supplier to just set on there. Being able to go by and pick up and they just set on there was nice. It was a great layout. Reason I say that, you might want to think about re arranging your layout. Put your water and chem tanks towards the front and move your machine and stuff behind. Makes it a lot easier to get to for maintenance and easier to work off rear of trailer… Your water tanks, weight is variable so you can move them forward. Maybe put where back of tanks are just right at front edge of axle.

I too have a plastic toolbox at the front of my trailer too. My truck even has side toolboxes but I still prefer to have everything right there in arms reach of everything else. My guns, some tools, spare fittings, injectors, engine parts, etc, etc, etc. I even screwed some 5 gallon buckets with screw top lids to the trailer for rags, some spray bottles, etc. I am bad about having too much stuff though but is sure nice when I actually need it.

Be sure to mount a vise on the trailer. You’ll use a lot. Little cheap one from Harbor freight (about $28) works fine. Just spray it with blaster and wipe down to keep from rusting.

Ok that’s a good idea. I do plan on turning the tanks. I’ll play around with the arrangement. I don’t know of any companies near me that have 50gal drums. I’ve been using some local pool companies. One only sales 4gal cases of 12.5 sh and the other sales 3gallon refills of 10% sh. I haven’t checked any chemical suppliers. I have a vise in my shed I never use I’ll just snatch it up and mount it. I have my own welder and I work at a Fab shop so I can get pretty much anything I need to make my trailer work for now. I’m glad I asked this thread has been really helpful.

@Racer very well thought out trailer. How much longer do we have to wait for the truck build?.

Real soon, need a few more hours to finish the lighting. Going to have about 150 hours on the machine before I get it finished, lol.

Lol that’s how long we had on the custom frame for the truck bed, 160 man hours! We always think “just a few more hours” but that really means a few more days :joy: I’m looking forward to seeing it as well.

That’s not @Racer. I’m sure he had every possible count you can think of planned out from the get go. That includes nuts and bolts to cost and time. He won’t go over by one lock washer, one penny, or one second…lol

I wish. Much more like @Seandz said. This weather doesn’t get better, I may never see it finished.

Lol theres two reasons I made that comment. One is because that’s my experience and the other is because you said you only had a few hours left a few days ago :rofl:

Update I made some adjustments. Looking for input on where to place my machine. I mounted the reel in that particular location because it’s not plumbed in. Until I can get my money up and get a better reel I find it not too bad just to unroll and hook up. I thought about mounting my 12 volt on the toolbox with battery inside. I wanted to color match my truck but I’m already getting calls and the weather has been so nuts I haven’t found an optimal time to paint it. I was able to score some fiberglass grating from work as my floor. I think it should hold up to the sh pretty good as long as I rinse. Thanks all for any advice.

So I built the fence to help pay for the trailer build. If anyone wants to wash the fence I ask for a 10% bird dog fee. I hate washing wood. Anyways I know the trailer needs some tweaking. And I still have some plumbing to do, but this will work for me. I plan on having a drum for a batch mix tank when using the 12volt. I didn’t plumb the reels because well they’re cheap and don’t plan on keeping next season. Thank you @Racer, @Harold, @MuscleMyHustle, @Hotshot and I’m sure there’s a few more for all your time and info you freely share. You guys are solid. Looking forward to kicking off my season next weekend. Hope everyone has a lucrative year!

You should consider building fences for a business, too. Those pickets are looking nice and straight. Better than some I’ve seen put up by professionals out here.
