Trailer build (Can't Hide Money)

Here it is just picked it up this morning…16foot x 6foot 5"…no it’s not brand new…I can’t stand cutting and welding on a brand new trailer…but it’s got some good bones…spent most of its life just sitting in someone’s back yard…some axle grease, welding and a little paint and we’ll see what we’ve got

You are going to hate that trailer. Way too long

I like my 16’ trailer but I’m used to pulling 24+ trailers so it makes this one seem small. Besides, it’s just more room for activities!

I have a 10 foot dual axal open air that im using now and it’s way to small…and I pulled a 14’ enclosed cargo trailer across the country several times a year behind a suburban…different trailers and different trucks for different situations…im not getting rid of my smaller trailers…just expanding

Wow. There’s no way I could use a trailer that long. I barely got my 10 footer into a lake house driveway yesterday.

I got a 10 footer and looking to go to 12 foot. Can’t see going much longer based on all the comments about parking, accessibility, etc. 12 ft tandem seems to not be common and for some reason enclosed trailers per ft are cheaper than utility (I am not a trailer pro, but logically it would seem enclosed should be more expensive).
What is also interesting, is I can find 14-16ft tandem utility trailers all day long cheaper then what I find 10-12ft. I am sure it is some kind of supply and demand with those sizes being “production runs” by large companies mass producing them, but still, 12 ft should be cheaper than 14 ft - less materials.

That’s what you would think. Ever buy kids clothes?

But yea man that’s a long trailer. I stopped using my ten foot and built a van rig, love it

I will mention here as a warning to anyone buying a used trailer. Make sure you get title from seller.
I’m having to do a bonded title because I didn’t get a title. Horrible experience.

Good advice and I ll add that if anyone ever sells a trailer to out of stater keep in mind different paperwork for different states. I had hell with one not long ago…

Got the reels ordered !!!

In SC no title is needed for a trailer but most companies that sell trailer will give you one when you buy from them. I have bought many trailers from private parties that dont have titles. I always get them to write me something up telling who they are date they sold it and for how much. Just because trailers around here get stolen right of your truck while your in the gas station lol then sell quick and easy.

Nice!!!

I bought a trailer in NM, where trailers under a certain weight don’t require a title, and I lived in Texas. It was heck of a time getting a title for it in Texas, then I moved to Michigan where they were weird about everything as well.

So much paperwork and headache for a dang 5x8 metal on wheels

I bought a boat in Indiana and the boat had a title but the trailer didnt. I ended up pulling it without a trailer plate and just took a chance. It was going to cost me $600 for a trailer title. They need to make it an across the board rule.

I ordered a reel there also. Price was great but I think delivery took 30 days? No issue for me though.

They keep certain models in stock. If they don’t currently have the reel in stock they have to have it drop shipped from Hannay. I’ve been ordering from Sprayer Depot for quite a few years for spray tips for around the yard. They usually deliver in two days. I had one reel make it to my house in two days and the other took two weeks because they didn’t have it in stock. Can’t beat the free shipping on the reels.
