Tow Hitch Reel

So I use my daily for my business vehicle too and needed a quick way to attach and detach a reel. This is what I came up with (see photos). I also use a 55gal drum as a buffer tank w/a Hudson valve. I know a lot of you guys hate on Northern tool but that’s where my newest powehouse came from (see photos) it’s a 5gpm 3k psi. It beats the husquavarna I was running with a back pack sprayer. So is there any other tips and tricks for a on and off set up. Thanks for all the info you guys put out it’s a blessing.

Thats pretty cool lol, but looks like you’ll need at least another 75 ft + of hose.

Why wouldn’t you just buy more hose and keep everything in the back of the pickup during the jobs instead of lugging all that around?

The picture of the set up is before I purchased a 100 ft hose.

I just bought a 100ft plus I have the 50ft that came with it. Do you know if the injector will still pull with the two hoses linked?

It will, or at least should. I am curious what you used for a bulkhead in the barrel. Thanks!

Wait…Hold on.

You take out the buffer tank and place it on the person’s property when washing?

Why not just set it up in the back of your truck?

It is left on the truck now at the time I didn’t have a long hose. (That’s what she said.)

Now is a perfect time to take that hose reel off your hitch and put it in the truck with the rest of your equipment. Look up truck bed set ups.

Your truck color looks like an Arkansas park truck.

I believe it was. Spot on.

As long as you get it all set up in the bed of your truck you should be good to go.

I know that thing is a beast to put in and out of the truck if your doing it alone!

Yeah. It only took one time and I purchased a 100’ hose. Now it just goes on when I line up work. Going to make this a full-time gig.

I have a 200’ and 50’ section I will plug my DS injector between the two and carry a bucket.

Hopefully someone will chime in that adding a whip line after pump will help with DS pulling long distances. I do not have a whip but suspect that is the problem with my 200’ pulling difficulties.

TIA

My injector is on the truck before the reel I pull through 250 feet no problem.

You have a whip line to reel…correct?

Yes I have a 10 foot whip from my unloader block to the Injector then a 2 foot whip to my reel. (Machine-front of trailer. Reels-rear of trailer).

Thanks. That will solve my problem.
I also have a ball valve before my DS between lines. So when rinsing I just pull the DS out of line and get full flow for the rinse.
Counterintuitive perhaps.
But faster for me, than walking back to the truck to flip 3 way valve.
