Tongue mount tool box recomendations

I want to make use of every available space on my utility trailer, anyone have recommendatios on a tongue A frame area tool box? For tools, gloves, masks, fittings, extra hose, etc etc? Thanks

There are tons of them out there. Just Google them and look at images till you find one you like. One thing to remember though on short tongue trailers, don’t get one too deep (horizontal depth) or your tailgate might not open or if your backing up with tailgate down can nail your box. ask me how I know that, lol.
The other thing you want to leave room to easily walk over tongue of trailer if hooked up because often times you’ll want to.

You will have to measure your tongue area as all trailers are built different. Northern tool has trailer toungue toolboxes. HD does also.

HAH!

Do the plastic hold up or is the diamond plate needed? It would seem to me all that matters is spray from tow vehicle.? I hate to use square footage on the bed for tools if I can use that tongue area more efficiently.

I’ve had both and actually kind of like the plastic ones better, though not as cool looking.

@Racer is right about all of this but being able to step over the tongue is more important than it would seem. I ended up removing my center mount jack and replacing it with a side mount that swivels just to help keep me from tripping or getting hung up on it. You’ll take more steps over it than you might ever imagine.

I step over mine all of the time. You will definitely want to use a tongue box that does not inhibit this.

Mark44 Here is what I did , the tongue has a 72"x14x14" and the 4ft x 14" side mount.
Hope this helps.

nice.

Like racer said, and many of can attest to. That standard tool box/bumper could, and prolly will at some point, take a beating.

Unless you never have to back up that trailer, im not a fan of this style tool box on the tongue. That is a good looking trailer though.

Fish tail is bad!!! I agree.

Harbor Freight

Should work great just watch those corners when backing into a tight space. If crush them in no time. Lol

That’s the box I ended up with:
