I’m starting small and wondering what your thoughts are on the price/specs of this pressure washer?

anyone have any experience with this pressure washer or at least have an idea if its worth the purchase for a small residential set up?

I have 2 Troy Bilt 3000psi 2.7gpm Honda Motors. They’re great! Got them both under $300 a piece at Lowes. I’ve ran them over 8hrs straight without a break. Just kept filling the gas. Also 14hrs in one day with short lunch breaks. No problems or concerns, Honda motors keep going.

While the honda motor is great, i use the same one. Im not sure of the pump. I personally would stick to brands like, udor, cat, general. I also cant tell from the pictures if the chem injector is built into that unloader, if it is thats not something you would want.
Do a search on here and it will most likely answer most question about starting up that you could have.

I had the dewalt 4200 psi 4GPM direct drive for last year, it had the chem injector built in. i just capped it off and bought the chem injector kit from pressuretek and it worked out. If the northstar has the chem injector built into it (i think it does) i could probably do the same thing no?

My plan is to use the belt drive northstar as the main and have the dewalt as a back up. Basically reinvest the money into better washers/equipment and build the company/equipment as i can afford it.

I have the Northstar 4000 psi 3.5 gpm model. Its an excellent machine and comet builds the pump. I was thinking about upgrading to the 5 gpm pump when this one goes however these pumps last for a while on a belt drive unit. I have about 250 hours on my machine and the engine and pump run as if its new. The cart is very heavy duty and big tires help moving it about, go ahead and get the hot water attachment with it and now you can really get some work done $$$$

I just ordered a 5.6 GPM, 2500 PSI, General pump, Honda GX390, General Unloaded and separate chemical injector from Power Wash Store. Came with 50’ hose, gun and tips for $1,400. I upgraded the unloaded to a K7 for $154. Very good machine for a good price. I know a few guys using them for years and love it. It’s not listed on Power Wash Store site. I e-mailed them and ordered it. I tried another well known dealer but he wasn’t helpful.

Great equipment at northern tool, by the extended warranty, they will replace any part or service the unit… I had a company that specializes in pressure washer , they did something wrong and it caused more damage to the unit… The warranty covered a second company to fix all the damage the other company did… I had a Unloader go out, I called northern tool warranty number… I had a Unloader sitting on my door step the next day…

Looks like a nice unit. If u have the money, go for it. but… you could do nearly as well buying something used (on craigslist -3500 to 4000 psi and 4gpm for around $650 to $900…no, not belt drive though) and have money left over for a utility trailer (@$600 new), surface cleaner (@$400) hoses, wand, roto-nozzle, and tips. To me THAT would be starting small. In 9 years of business I never bought new but upgraded every year and improved my gear each year. I have 2 of everything so I never have any down time. I’d look on Craigslist every day and found excellent deals by not being in a hurry. Bought nice used Landa 6gpm, 3500 psi belt driven, electric start units for $1,100 and $1,300. The Northstar pw looks nice though. Good luck. visit my site at pressurepowerllc.com Jim
