The transition from trailer to the bed of my truck has begun

Looking forward to not hauling a trailer for soft washing this year. Still going to build a small trailer for my 12v set up that I can take to roof jobs though.

I’m doing the same thing with a truck this year. I’m going to try and get it all in there though. Should be a hoot! Good luck with your project.

Literally doing this right now. Mine is just temporary until I get a different truck. Five and a half foot bed would be super hard to fit everything.

Very cool. Go with the vertical tanks. I am using the shorter tank cause I had it already but will be switching to the vertical one when I build my air diaphram set up/

That’s rough. How will you tote around all your accessories like ladders, surface cleaner, telescoping brush, bleach, etc…

I have a brand new 16’ tandem axle trailer that I used all last season. I’m shopping for either a longbed 2500 or flatbed 3500 truck to switch over to.

Side ladder rack, drill a pvc tube to it for extension poles, wands etc. Also putting everything on a skid that’s a ft high or so to fit stuff underneath is what I’m doing for the year @DisplacedTexan

I’ll probably have a custom skid made when I find the right truck. I have a few ideas that I’m rolling around. But, yes, more than likey the sc will go underneath. I cant decide if I want a full ladder rack or just the side one like you have. Full rack means more useable space and more room for signage

Invest in a decent mig welder bud and build your own skid, spend an afternoon practicing butt welds and corner welds. A lot of these skids I see from vendors never take into account the wheel tubs that trucks have in the tray and squeeze everything between them and it isn’t really an efficient use of space. You would be surprised what you could come up with when you build as you go.

I don’t mind learning how to weld and building my own. I’d probably prefer it that way. But I’m HOPING to have a different truck and have the skid built before I kick off in middle of March. I don’t feel like that’s enough time for me to become a proficient welder and I probably wouldn’t trust my welds enough at that point to attach the entirety of my equipment to it. I can always just keep going with my trailer for this season but I’d prefer to get this done sooner rather than later. Besides, I’m not buying a skid from Joe Blow in Kalamazoo. I’ll go down to the local fabrication shop and design it with them so that it is exactly how I want it. I’m all for paying a professional to do certain tasks. That’s why people hire us right?

That’s it! Your next best option. Everybody’s preferred layout is different. If I’m working out of it 8-10 hours a day it has to tick every box for me. What is wrong with that truck you have? Getting tired? Or you out of space?

It’s got 34,000 miles. Poor old Chevy is wore out! No I just need something that is more suitable for work and not as nice. It’s full black interior and I cringe every time I get in it after washing something. I really want to do a flatbed build and get away from pulling a trailer. We live in the foothills of the Ozark mountains so nearly everything is on a hill here. Pulling my 16’ trailer around for a simple house wash and driveway isn’t a whole lot of fun. I’ll either sell it or hold onto it and build it out for a commercial trailer in the future. I’m thinking two hot units, 550 gallon tank, two big surface cleaners, etc.

That’s bad girl isn’t even run in yet lol, it would be a wise decision to keep the trailer for future expansion, it’s just another tool in the tool box. It would suck to have to let go of a good paying job due to being un equipped, I always used to feel bad for days that I missed out on something even though you can’t clean it all lol

What size bed you got in mind for your next truck?

20 foot bed would be nice.

Just a matter of time before someone uses a Tesla Cybertruck.

The LMTV was designed as a 4x4 with a 2.5 ton payload. I’m not impressed with these digits @greenman we need something that’s capable 60,000 gallons for these 2 story homes.

I’m thinking one of those c130 firefighting planes, load her up with sh and elemonator and wash a whole neighborhood in one go!
