The Joist free ride is finaly over (mobile estimate software options)

Joist will be changing its service and adding a pro version. They say a free version with limited options will be available but I doubt it will last long. I strongly reccomend anyone who uses the service to backup your customer lists and records immediately before you lose access. That being said if I’m going to start paying for a service I’m not going to be useing one with limited options that are great if they are free but complete crap for a monthly fee. Dont get me wrong I dont mind paying for a service that’s worth it. I’ve just become accustomed to useing this service and became extremely comfortable with the software. I’m compiling a list of possible pay replacements. What do you love?

Markate. But I’m biased. It’s my first and only crm. This far I haven’t found a reason to consider leaving.

I tried the free trial from Quick Books and it seems like a really good program. They offer 2 or 3 different levels of options. I haven’t purchased it yet because I’m so new and in a small town so not a lot of customers to justify buying it yet.

Quickbooks is good for accounting, sending estimates and invoices, and collecting payment. It doesn’t do much more than that. There is a ton of info of software out there on this forum. Search Markate, housecall pro, customer factor. I feel these are the 3 main ones. We use Markate and it is pretty slick. I personally feel quickbooks doesn’t offer anything to to help grow your business however these other 3 offer cool marketing features that can help big time

Im using markete too. It pretty good i like the scheduling and work orders that turn into invoices. Mostly all have done other than the obvious adding customers. Do you know how to link invoice payme9 options to your bank or paypal? I dont see a tab for that.

In Markate you have to set up WePay to accept payment and have it deposit to your account

I tried Markate. I’m used to Housecall Pro. I’ll stick with HCP.

Whats the pros and cons of HCP compared to markate? No need to go into detail just curious of whats your main reasons.

I’m sure Markate has more than HCP. I’m just used to it and like it. Great group and support on FB. It’s just simple and feels less clunky than Markate. Hard to switch when you get used to something that works. You can book online. Still trying to iron that out. Overall I think both are great. I just like HCP more😀

Gotcha, i think you cant book online with markate too. Something i want to do with mine in the future.

We’ve got thunderstorms the next 3 days. I’ll be leaving HCP for Markate and have been looking forward to doing so for awhile now

I’m pretty sure it’s done on the desktop site under settings. A lot of stuff can only be done on the desktop site but I find that the features you need in the field are readily available on the app.

Did you buy that cromebook yet? Im thinking of getting one myself.

Does markate have a sync feature for quickbooks desktop? The customer finder 360 option also looks interesting anyone utilizing that?

That may have been someone else. I’ve got a 6 year old Macbook that works like the day I got it. But I somewhat remember someone else looking at chrome books

I guess the mac book is still kicking

Yes it can sync with quickbooks and we’ve been using customer finder and LOVE it

You have to do it from desktop version. Once it is set up once it’s done. But you have to submit business documents and such for them to approve you, so it’s a little bit if a process and it can’t be done on mobile

Yeah I just found that out . I started to do another estimate on Joist and boom, there’s the option to subscribe…or use it with limited options. I’m paying the monthly for now until I find something better. It’s perfect for what I need.
