I just started looking into a text message marketing service, has anyone started this service. Older clients respond to e mails, younger clients text seems to work best. How difficult was it to set up? How expensive was it? How good was the response?

I use Markate and I can send a text
Blast to all my existing customers about deals or incentives. Costs a little over $100 for about 1,300 customers. At the end of February I send out a text blasts for early booking deals. It’ll get me 2-3 weeks of work to get my season started. I’ve done it every year and it’s worked great

How hard is it to set up and is there an up front cost?
I pay like 30 or 40 bucks a month for Markate. Thats where I do all my scheduling estimating, invoicing etc. then they offer the text blasts for something like .10/per text.

what if your fairly new? how well does text work as an introduction
My plan is for people I’ve done work for, they know me, they remember what I do, they may need my services again. If you’re getting names or lists and this is an introduction to people who don’t know you I wouldn’t expect a great return.
