My mosmatic i bought uses 3/8 " ends but if you look in the center. it’s much smaller, same with my mitm 20" surface cleaner. 3/8" opening at the trigger handle , says its a 3/8" hose but the inside of the hose going into the rotary head looks a lot smaller unlike my shut off valve which is true all the way through.
You’re sweating the small stuff. In regards to ball valves you have two port sizes standard and full port, look them up to see the difference. On your male pipe you are taking about wall thickness which changes the inside diameter. The thicker the wall gets a higher psi rating. None of this matters much when you look at the size of the hole at the end of your nozzle and see the only restriction that really matters.
