Im in the process of getting 5.5’s or 8… still debating on which ones im gonna bite on
I was going to see if he might have a machine with a wobble pump…if so, I have had those wobble pumps go out in 25hrs…they can really be junk.
It’s the Simpson 4200/4gpm with the AAA direct drive pump.
Yeah i was in a pinch once and had to go to homedepot and buy one non honda one and what a hunk of junk… i donated it to my friend and its still kicking… roughly but still works lol
So my first pressure washer was a simpson 2.8 with aaa pump… man did i ever beat the living hell out of it… That damn pump would not die and i didnt even take care of it. I changed the oil after 3 years and about 150 house washes and it was still going strong
That sounds horrible.
@Jdpowerwashing I think your machine has a triplex pump…they are much better and you should get a good bit of use out of it…maybe a couple of hundred hours.
But that why i always say… work with what you got but try and get better equipment as you advance on your techiques and income
Yeah you’re right. They’re great machines. I have two. I lost pressure on the first. It’s being looked at now by a shop. Was going to put a 5.5 pump on it.
You figure if you get 200 or 300 hours on a 900 dollar machine, you’re making so much money for such a small investment
I agree…that is a great return on your investment. I bought my hot water 8gpm machine about 2 years ago and it has about 600hrs…but it cost a pile of money. I am retired and I don’t do this as a full time business…I only want to work about parts of 3 days per week. So, I hope my machine will last as long as I am doing this…might have to replace the pump…but that is only about $700.
I know… theres guys here who say if youre part time you are not doing it right… when there is really no right or wrong. Theres part time guys who run a tighter and more profitable business than those “full timers”… to each their own… not everyone can be/wants to be CEO runing 20 trucks with all the headache that come with it
I am retired first…and do pressure washing second. I like the fact that it kind of keeps me engaged…but I have no interest in doing this every day of the week. I pick and choose my jobs…and when I do them. I tell people up front how I work before I schedule them. I tell them about what day I will be to them on the list…and again, I let them know this is part time for me. They all seem to be okay with it. Example of how I work…next week I will do a house and driveway, some gravestones and another big driveway…that is all that I will do next week. The next week, I will do a big house, driveway and 300ft of vinyl fence, and last thing will be a pretty good sized cool deck around a pool, about 1800sq ft…that is it for the week.
Had wobble at yesterday’s job, finally did the boot thing and found a nozzle clogged.
Interestingly it seems to have cleaned better with one nozzle working, go figure. I may have to go back to the 2502’s.
