Surface cleaner soap

Are you applying soap with a pressure washer / softwash pump? Or is it possible to downstream with the surface cleaner attached?

Can’t DS through high pressure. Most apply the pre/post treat with a 12v

I wish. Seems to me a bit of soap would help with surface cleaning. Might be a little tough to figure out where you’ve cleaned though.

Should not be able to apply soap with surface cleaner. If you are…then your nozzles aren’t producing enough pressure to actually clean. Use a soap / low pressure tip to apply soap if downstreaming. Or use 12v system if in your arsenal.

I don’t understand this. I don’t claim to be good at washing houses, I don’t do many, but what I have been doing is after wetting down the flora and fauna I turn soap on (HW mix) and hit the sidewalks and porches first, then soap the house. I re mist the sidewalks and porches again after I rinse the house. Then surface clean. I haven’t post treated one yet, but then again I don’t do too many sidewalks or driveways. Most people in my area have asphalt drives. Asphalt drives usually just want the anti skid rinsed down (the stuff the state puts on the road in winter).

Maybe I am doing this wrong and someone with experience can tell me how to do it right or maybe easier/quicker.

He asked if he can apply mix with his surface cleaner. DS injectors won’t pull at high pressure so that’s not possible. You can apply it with a gun and your soap tip though.

You really shouldn’t be spraying the animals, they don’t like it

Better that they get sprayed with water first and take their leave, than get doused in bleach :upside_down_face::man_shrugging:

If it’s around the house it gets it with the hose, dogs, cats, lizards, frogs, turtles, squirrels, chipmunks, chickens…etc, etc. If the homeowner isn’t careful and is outside, they get it too, hit the last owner with some mist, told him to watch out 3 times, just stood there looking at me. Commented “ohh that shoots far”. They like watching or something, or think I am going to steal something.

Tell them you have a cleaning solution that will instantly change the colors of their clothes, kinda like the plastic warm/cold cups at Walmart. And it’s free with every house wash.

You can if you really want to , we supply soap all the time @1700 psi then switch or D10 and rinse @2000 psi.

You rubber scrubbers think you have it all figured out.

What you don’t know is there’s a lounge only for the real washers. That’s where all the good secrets are kept.

You’re doing it perfect. I’ll usually post treat it with just the hw mix again sometimes unless a lot of embedded algae, then have to break out the stronger mix.

I bet I could get it to work. Not that it’s a great idea. I’m going to hook up sc to 2 step gun and see what happens

Thank you. I never know if I am doing things “right”. I usually hit up a couple of guys on here for information on things I’m not 100% on. I haven’t gotten a complaint yet from a customer, and I don’t want one either. I’ve watched your concrete videos several times…thanks a lot for posting those.

One question, when surface cleaning many customers haven’t edged their concrete which as you know doesn’t let the surface cleaner into the corners or some edges. I used your trick of kind of blasting a little edge so I can get tighter to the edges, but sometimes that grass is high and thick. I wind up resorting to getting the lance and turbo to clean up the corners, rather than blast an edging around the walk. OCD kicks in. Don’t look at my driveway though, that thing is nasty. Tractor and zero turn just trashed it the other day. Asphalt is muddy. I’m not a good showcase.

Just take the gun off the 2 step process and qc it up close to the PW like we do. One hose , short pickup lines and it works, but I’ve never hooked a sc to it, only a 7’ Lance.
Lol, I just said it could be done @qons , not that it would efficiently work , I believe dwell time is the key imo.

We surfaced cleaned all the time with a high alkaline soap. I had the pumps dialed back some pressure wise for other reasons but there’s no reason you can’t get 3,500psi or more using soap. It’s called upstreaming
