Surface cleaner size

Hello all im totally new here and “green” in this industry. I’ve recently purchased a 4gpm pressure washer and have a 14in surface surface cleaner that I was using on my previous 2.5 gpm pressure washer. I know its not optimal or ideal but I would like to know if its possible to use the 14in surface cleaner on the newer 4 gpm pressure washer and get good results. Can anyone help with this?

All depends on the nozzles in it. Do Some searching using the search tool on here before asking too many questions. Short answer, if the pressure was right for your old pressure washer, it won’t be right for your new one.

I have an 18” with my 4gpm washer and it’s right at about 3000 psi at the gun. I also have my old 15” that has nozzles in it that are about 1000 psi I use for new concrete or epoxy garage floors

A 14” surface cleaner should work better with the 4 then the 2.5 machine. 4” to 1 GPM is the recommended rule, so where your 2.5 was struggling to push it your 4 should make it effortless. You could even bump up to a 16” and still be fine, but I don’t think you’ll see appreciable returns for the price difference. Like @Nickski said, look up a nozzle chart and swap out for the correct size of the new machine.
