I’ve searched and haven’t been able to find the exact answer I’m looking for. I have a 5.5/3500 machine and am looking to get a new surface cleaner. My old (ancient) cleaner has seen her last day. I can’t tell what the tips are in it, so I have no idea what PSI it was actually putting out. It worked great so I want to make sure I get similar PSI. I am thinking about just getting a 16” Whisper Wash so what tips should I have for concrete and paver work? I really have no idea what PSI I should be shooting for on the nozzle chart. Thinking 2500?? Does that sound right or should I go lower? Thanks!
There are other Ninjas of the Nozzle here but I will speak from my experience. I run a 20" SC on my 5.5 3500 machine… initially, I had 25025 however I tried 2503 and I like them a little better. I’m at around 2500 at the SC.
Disclaimer: I’m only going off of the tip calculator, and have only been in business for myself a little over a year.
You can run a 19" WW Ultra and you’ll love it.
2 nozzles at 25035 would give you around 2300 psi, a little weak but pre and post will help.
2 nozzles at 2503 would give you 3240 psi (a little high, but 200’ of hose might bring you down to the sweet spot)
2,500- 2,800 has been great for resi…
I step up for commercial, Ill be in at 3,000- 3,200 and some heat
Here’s the calculator, divide by how many nozzles you will use.
Yep the 5.5 usually just gets to watch on commercial jobs.
I’m not commenting to make this a measuring d contest…
Just for reference for anyone looking to set up there SC… and I do small commercial work… It isn’t my thing
Well luckily we do mostly residential and we are part timers so I’m not concerned about commercial. Works out. We’ve built a 6 figure business doing house washes and roof cleaning.
Oh yeah sorry wasn’t aiming that at you man - I started with a 3GPM from Northern Tool. I don’t do measuring contests because I usually lose.
I use a 20inch surface cleaner with 2503.
Gives me 3000 psi at the end of 150ft hose ony 5.5 gpm cat pump.
For pool decks and painted areas, I use another SC with 2504, so no damage to paint.
