Thanks for the info. I really appreciate it. Is there a way to fix or is it out of my hands now? I have to make it right somehow .

We’ve told you to try the F9 circle technique. Otherwise your options are resurface the concrete or break it up and pour a new slab.

The overlay is the best advice yet…There’s no undoing what’s been done. Cream has been stripped. With an overlay you can add the final brush strokes, returning original look back. If you hire a contractor expect around $5 per sq ft

@TexasPressureWashing

That wouldn’t technically be fixing it right?

You would basically be etching it even…

Correct me if I’m wrong

Yes I’m going to try this coming weekend and I’ll post results. Thanks again for your help .the video was very helpful

Correct, you’d be evening it out so it no longer looked etched. By etching all of it with F9 Efflo but evenly.

Text from the video:

Clogged tips and bad tips are the #1 reasons in my opinion this happens. Concrete that is not up to spec happens a lot too. If concrete is weak it’s easier to etch. Once in a while your spray bar will not be level because either it’s worn, bad bearings, worn tires, not equal psi in the tires, etc.

Here are three ways to fix it:

  1. Make sure tips are good and properly aligned. Pw it in the opposite direction, SLOWLY. Unfortunately this may only work sometimes because concrete may be etched too bad. But, it will look better, only it will leave light etch marks the other way and look like a cross cross. …may or may not work. You’ll have to try and see.

  2. Use a surface cleaner and do SLOW CIRCLES left to right all the way across and then right to left, making sure to overlap at about 50% of the surface cleaner width. This is what this video shows. The technique will work better than the cross-cross and work MOST of the time. If concrete is etched too bad, you will have to go with #3 below.

  3. F9 Efflorescence and Calcium Remover by Front 9 Restoration. This WILL take them out. Use F9 Efflo, spray on at 8:1 and broom surface until the foaming stops. Surface clean using the circle technique on the whole thing. Rinse off.

I dont get myself in those type of situations so ive never had to repair damaged concrete, collect more info from here about all topics before going out in the real world and write notes, because too many mistakes of that magnitude and you wont be able to have a business cause too many insurance claims and nobody will cover you for insurance,i do established restaurant locations that have old concrete mostly

By the way the circle technique is to get rid of surface cleaner lines from overlapping your surface cleaner marks too much and leaving lines that are cleaner /dirtier,not for fixing permanent etch marks in concrete

I agree with Craigs solution for removing lines with multiple passes but if David jones continues, he will just keep removing top cream to that patio. Just be ready to have it resurfaced… sorry man

What he said and what i said

I agree replacing or resurfaced concrete is the way to go.

There’s also that product Rick has recommended before kool something or other. Don’t know if that works for this situation.

That’s the worst concrete pour I’ve ever seen. Offer to paint it for him and be done with it. You’re wasting your time trying to fix that unless you grind it. Will look better than when you started. Check your nozzles. I promise you they have the size on them.

If you see you’re messing something up, don’t keep going with it. You should have noticed something was wrong in about 10 ft.

@ShellcrackerMan this is what 25020’s will do to concrete.

Thanks for your input but I educated myself oretty well …I’ve been doing this about 6 months but have done over 50 or 60 porches patios and all kinds or cement and never since had this problem. Which is why I posted but. I take pride in what I do and I do dam good work. Hardest crap to do for me is that dam Austin stone which is tedious. Concrete is usually fairly easy and no problems. I invested in good equipment and put hours and hours in to educating myself . Again never once have I had this problem .

Knowing your tips is a must. Good luck!
