Are you mostly commercial? I would like to have more reviews and a better online presence, even though Im trying to focus more on commercial.
No, commercial sales (in most anything non-revenue generating to the purchaser’s business) tends towards the lowest price in my experience. I have no interest in being the lowest price in any market. That works for other folks, but not up my alley. We do a few select commercial accounts who favor value and quality service over strictly low-cost. We’re also not setup with commercial in mind, if we were we’d be able to be at a lower cost point on those sort of jobs. We do what we’re good at, and try to do a lot more of that.
That’s the key. What works in one area or for one business may not work in and for another. It really depends on the type of work you are after and what the folks in your area are going to to find businesses.
Telling every business here to forget marketing would be kind of silly. Most of us rely on marketing to fill our schedules, we can’t all be @Innocentbystander!
This… @Firefighter4hire is in the same area we are, but we operate in different circles for the most part…both seem to work just fine.

Not saying your wrong, just trying to fit into a commercial niche that pays well right now. If I can get it right, it will be similar to William in being very profitable. It seems for commercial equipment and knowing what your customers want is key. Selling only what they want with quality, without all a ton of extras. Im glad you have a thriving business with mostly resi, im just finding out its not for me I think. We will find out!
