Struggling father trying something new

I did make a typo i meant gx390 lol

:point_up_2::point_up_2:Deleted that because you literally just answered it.

@SchertzServicesLLC Not trying to start another 6.0 argument but the formula i gave gets alittle more in the ballpark your formula told me i needed a 20hp motor for a 5.5gpm 4000psi pump when my 13hp motor pulls it great. I Think @fredled uses a 8hp motor with a 4gpm 4000psi pump, correct me if wrong.

Some of the formulas are more conservative than others. My 390 (which, by the way, is really only around 11hp, not 13) does great with a 5.6 pushing 2500 psi. I havenā€™t tried to push it farther than that, but I know some manufacturers build basically the same machine and set it up for 3k. I think that is pushing it a bit too much, personally.

4@4000 is also achievable with the 390. Again, some companies (supposedly) set them up for 4200-4400, which is really just pointless excess, probably meant to impress the uninitiated.

Im wasnā€™t trying to be that guy, but what im saying is you canā€™t lose with @SchertzServicesLLC formula, but it can cost you more $ money.

Ive PW around only 5 houses (family and neighbors for little to nothing as practice with machine that i returned. But man looking back on that i was such a rookie. I wash put a ounce of dawn dish into straight bleach and hosing down sections of the house and blasting the crap out of it 5 mins later with 4200psi haha. Wish i would have found this site a month ago.

If you could please do a video bucket test of your machine putting out 5.5 gallons per minute and show a gauge at the gun of your machine running 4K psi at the same time.

What happens is when you put an open tip to downstream and softwash you are pulling the full 5.5gpmā€¦

When you throw a tip in it that brings you up to 4K I will bet good money your unloader is bypassing a good bit.

Itā€™s scientifically not possible to put out that much with that few horsepower.

Iā€™ve said it a thousand times lol

If you undersized your motor you can have either flow or pressure but never both at the same time.

Keep what you have, go online and get yourself a nice JROD nozzle and you will be all set. Compliment that with an XJET down streamer and you can get a house cleaned in 1.5 - 2 hrs pending the chemicals you use. I run a dewalt 3800 3.5gpm and it works perfectly

Ok @SchertzServicesLLC you were right Iā€™ve never done a bucket test the unloader was set at 3500 but the bucket showed barely 5gpm at 3000 its 5.2gpm sorry for not having a video cant time and video at the same time maybe if i set it at 2500 it would be run 5.5 like @Infinity machine i guess 2500 5.5 is the best you can get out of a 13hp motor

This formula is incorrect

As i said before to racer my dad had a very successful career in pressure washing. He got on drugs because he was chasing girls that got him into it. His business crashed and he started selling them. Long story short he is a good business manā€¦SOOO good that heā€™s in federal prison. I havenā€™t talked to him much but he somehow has a phone in prison that he can text

He sent me this after i told him i would clean gutters and wash 18wheelers in the fall/winterā€¦

5gal a minute is fine but starting out doing residential a 4gpm will work fine i mom said when she got you the car that the truck had problems plus the the payments and insurance were killing u believe me when i tell u that there are very few people who know more about pressure washing and pressure washers than my self i used, sold, repaired, and toured factors where they manufactured Landaā€™s in Portland Oregon i grossed close to 400,000 in 2008 i have cleaned just about every thing u can think of over half the people i meet who had been in the business longer than me still used trigger guns and knew very little about cleaning brick and so u should be picking my brain its been while but its up to you

i always hated washing trucks i used to do mold meldew removal around thanksgiving and before christmas people having family over wanting to clean up and people seeing the there house dirty when they start to put christmas lights how much did u spend on your motorcycle could u get enough out of it to buy presurre washer i really wished you and elle lived closer i heard she cooks really good i could pay her to prep food or buy deserts from her to sell on the food truck i plan on having more than one truck i heard you knew your way around grill you to could maybe run truck together its just thought anyway talk to later love dad.

My question is what did he mean when he said " and they all were still using trigger guns" what did he mean by that. I thought all guns had triggers?

My guess is that he was using a ball valve with a quick connect for his nozzles. Not really a safe practice since a ball valve wonā€™t close itself if accidentally dropped. And itā€™s a pointless risk when you have easy pull guns that will stand up to bleach, like the Suttner 2315.

But Iā€™ve seen a number of contractors who still swear by their ball valves :man_shrugging:

At this point quite a few use a ball valve w/o a gun.

Lot of people do stupid things. Buy the 2315 trigger gun.

Are you refering to the 13hp predator? Other than pump and electric start what other things would be on it.

Intake barb and unloader.

ā€¦and mounting block for the unloader

That is an extra! Then I would need to have it mounted to a base lol

Whole deal seems tiring!
