Stripping sealed and painted driveway,

I need to strip this driveway of the feeling and paint. What, besides the pressure washing specific companies like F9, I won’t be able to get them in time, would I use to take it down to bare concrete? I have a turbo nozzle and a 20 in surface cleaner and the paint and sealer are only 3 years old and already look like this so I’m thinking it may not be too hard to get off. Any advice is greatly appreciated in advance

If you don’t want to hate your life, rent a concrete grinder.

Too funny….but true.

Thanks for responding. Aside from grinding, do you know of anything I can pre-treat it with before I with before hit it with the pressure washer that is safe for environment. It’s acrylic vinyl paint on top of it and scratched off pretty easy. I’m thinking if I could just get it to loosen up a little bit that the surface Cleaner will take care of it. I bought some different kinds of solutions like a degreaser some specialized vinegar based solution and something else that slipped my mind at the moment but is there anything that will soften that up a bit?

Honestly if you don’t know what you’re doing on this you may want to just skip it. I have VERY limited knowledge on sealing, but it’s my understanding it’ll need some harsh chemical stripper to get the old sealer off

Yes

No

In all seriousness… You can try rolling a small area with paint stripper and cover it with plastic for 12 to 24 hours, that’ll be your best bet to maybe loosen it. But even then, it’s unlikely to be as efficient or effective as simply grinding it off. Plus, you’ll spend a ridiculous amount of time chasing down all the little flakes of paint that get scattered everywhere… unless you plan to leave their lawn a mess.

There are faster and cheaper ways to do this that don’t involve a pressure washer, especially if you’re trying to stay environmentally friendly. Honestly, two of the worst tasks I’ve ever attempted were removing painted concrete (not graffiti) and removing solid deckover stain from wood. It’s almost never worth the time, and the results rarely meet expectations.
