Steep pitch

I will be looking at placing a bid for cleaning a Roof on a 5000 sq/ft house. I have been told it has a fairly step pitch. I would like to know how some of you guys would clean this type of roof if you can’t get up on it. Also any thoughts or considerations when figure out my bid.

What type of equipment are you cleaning it with? Typically people apply from the roof line and rarely have to get up on the roof.

Any chance I could give you a call and ask a few questions

Spray from a ladder.
Use a dedicated roof additive with lots of cling.
Learn to mist on light coats to minimize runoff.

Thanks Thad. I’m trying to find roof snot up in my area with no luck so far (tacoma, wa area). Will this work for concrete tiles as well?

Yes, It works on concrete tiles as well.

out of curiosity (not that i will be doing it any time soon) but what do you guys do when you have a 10/12 or 12/12 pitch roof when it’s a 2 story with a walk-out?

get a 36’ ladder? (no fun… no fun at all)

refuse the job?

find some alternate method? … get a bat-man style grappling hook and toss it over the house and secure it?

Get a towable 50 foot boom lift.

I guess if there is enough demand for it then that is indeed viable… that option is way above my pay grade as of right now unfortunately haha

Rent it for the day and line item it.
