Hello, I am French living in France (I came across this forum while researching this business) and I want to thank you for all your incredibly interesting contributions.
Currently, I am gathering information on the different types of cleaning and the methods (products to use, etc.) because this is a new field for me. I’m having a bit of trouble with some of the jargon you use in the U.S., which isn’t the same in France, haha.
I am inspired by your contributions because here in France, it’s very difficult to find resources on a business; not many people share the tricks of the trade.
I love France. Good luck, lots of dirty stuff to clean over there, because a lot of older stuff. Is there a market for it . Have never seen anyone doing pressure washing.
Wow, it’s an honor to get a response from you, legend
Yes, there are several companies that offer this service, but it’s not as widespread as in the USA, and yes, there really are a lot of dirty things here. That’s why I’m here—to learn as much as possible, even though the equipment and products are different here in France.
I’d be a lot more concerned as to WHY there aren’t any pressure washers. I suspect the government has regulated them out of existence with all that ‘green’ BS during the Olympics.
Yes, there are high-pressure cleaners, but not very many. For example, in the USA, from what I’ve seen, you use a lot of sodium hypochlorite (bleach), which is really frowned upon by homeowners in France. In France, for example, we don’t have surfactant products. I feel like in France, the techniques are much less advanced compared to yours.
Ça va, Milko. I’m in the USA. I was doing research on finding resources for equipment rentals in Paris and sourcing chemicals for potential jobs in France and saw your post. One of the companies my family owns is a big commercial pressure washing business here in Atlanta and I got curious about what opportunities might be over there. I see astoundingly beautiful architecture that desperately need cleaning, especially roof washes, yet it doesn’t appear to be very common there.
Is it a cultural thing to not clean the roofs on homes, estates, or chateaus? Is it a green / environment, chemical regulation issue? Would love your feedback on the industry there. Happy to share tips on gear, etc.
