I feel like im taking crazy pills. Maybe ive been glued to the computer too long because my eyes seem to be crossing but i am having a difficult time trying to find what i need. I could have sworn i found a post earlier talking about 90 degree swivels but cannot for the life of me find it now using the search function.
What i am finding is hydraulic swivels that are steel which i would assume are a no go as they would rust quickly.
Is this what im looking for?
My plan is to have male end go into the reels, one reel being 3/8 the other being 1/2, go to a 90 degree bend and then attach to a quick connect and i think that is what needs to be done for easy on, easy off, as well as rolling and unrolling hoses correct?
I feel dumb asking this question but i just cant seem to find what im looking for in the search.
Or would you use a street elbow and then plug a quick connect In right there. Not having something like this already coming with the reel sounds like a…reel pain in the butt. Pun intended.
IBS is right, surely they didn’t come like that. If so, need to return - should have a stainless pipe in there, threaded on both ends with a cap on one end and a swivel on the other ands a 90deg pipe with female adapter coming off that to hook your hose to. If it’s not a super swivel, go buy one and throw the one it came with away.
Working on the boat 6 hours on, 6 hours off and up. Called Cox and they told me I need an adapter for the inside of the reel. How are you going to sell an incomplete reel for 250-300$ and be ok with that?
That’s on me. Shows swivel on outside but not inside. I can read a million posts on here but not stop myself from newbie mistakes. Hopefully mitigating SOME of them
Where you live, surrounded by salt water and with the intent of spraying a lot of bleach, I think you’re nuts not to go with an aluminum reel with stainless internals.
They want to charge me 300$ shipping each for those GP ones!
Went with two 1/2x200 of the link above. At least these seem to be more in line with being useable for the time being but reels will be a purchase I will be making next trip down south.
My first reel was a Cox and that’s how they come. You need to get your own fittings for the inside to connect your hose. And good luck trying to get a wrench in there. PITA. My Cox reel lasted about 1.5 years then it literally just fell apart. All the welds were crap. I understand that’s probably all that would ship to Alaska
