Spigot locked

Went to clean a building that we have cleaned in the past. Sent my guy to hook up to the spigot and found this. I guess someone has been stealing water.

I see things like that on government buildings. I had to put a job on hold for over a week because nobody knew who had the keys.

This building is part of a college that’s about 5 miles away. It would have taken forever to find the key to this lock. Luckily I had enough water left in my tanks from the previous job.

Lol. If I had been in a pinch, bolt cutters would have been next. This thing was on pretty good.

Oh yea, my in law’s neighbor bought that after his water bill went up, i guess he thought my in-laws were using his water lol. The bill remained high even after installing it, LOL
Apparently he got it at Lowe’s or home depot, i guess I’ll have to pick up bolt cutters to keep in the truck if this is going to be a common occurrence

Maybe it was the way I was raised, but not once has the thought ever crossed my mind… “Hey I am going to go steal some water today”

Talk about paranoid.

The first thing you check when your water bill goes up is the toilets, to make sure they’re not running through.
Then leaks.
Then underground valves feeding the house.
Then investigate paranormal activity.
Check toilets again.
Then consider the possibility of somebody stealing water.

Bolt cutters are handy but a battery grinder is worth considering. I don’t know what I did before I got one .
Another handy/almost essential tool is a recipro saw.
Prob why I drive a truck with big tool boxes-so many cool tools to make life easier.
Btw I still have bolt cutters on board …

You are right about having a battery grinder. I use my electric grinder daily at the shop. Picking up a battery powered grinder is on my to do list.

Bolt cutters are stealthy

A Milwaukee battery grinder would be nice, but like jetaway said bolt cutters are stealthy

I try to limit what i carry on my truck, to keep its weight low and because there’s only so much storage room, so i go through it like once a month to remove anything I haven’t used lately
