Spending too much time rinsing

`Fellas I’m almost 3 years in on doing this part time. I have a hot water 5gpm 3,000 psi unit, Kohler 14.5 hp engine and a Udor pump. I X-jet my soaps and rinse away with my j-rod. It seems I’m spending too much washing and rinsing. What’s a good 5 gallon bucket house wash mix for my setup? Also I’ve researched it and can’t figure out an exact ratio. I use 8.25% bleach and a splash of gain liquid and degreaser to

my mix. I roughly do 2 gallons of bleach and 2 to 2.5 gallons of water in all my X-jet pails. I’d like to add this place is really good on info, just can’t find this specific answer. Thanks in advance

Ditch the gain for a better surfactant. A lot of guys like elemonator. I’m still on my 6x bottle of greenwash but when that runs out plan on trying it.

Why don’t you kick the x-jet in the throat and stab the bucket and buy a downstream injector? Simplify your process and make more money. Unless you live in stuccoville, your working against yourself.

I’ve given the downstreaming injector a trial run, with a 5gpm 3k psi pump it won’t pull off more than 100ft of hose. My X-jets have always been fast and efficient and work anywhere. My main question is, is my basic/house wash mix strong enough. Thanks for both replies, I’ll be purchasing Eleomonator asap

Mine pulls with 200ft of hose, and it goes quick. Thats with 4gpm, but the same goes for the 5.5gpm. Non adjustible general pump 2.1inj from pressuretek.

Appreciate all the info, I’ll have to try that 2.1 non adjustable injector out. thanks again

I’ve got a 10 gallon backup pail, in what ratios would you fill this for downstreaming your wash mix? I use 8.25% bleach by the way. Thanks in advance. I work night shifts for the army corps of engineers is why my questions are coming in at late hours lol

I’m not sure on that% but Is start at maybe 3 to 2., depending on what your washing. Theres alot of room for adjustment and some pros use straight sh or 50/50.

What part of the country are you in? How bad is the the mildew? What is predominant siding in your area? What proportioner have you been using in your xjet? Are your houses coming clean with what you’re doing?

This is all stuff we need to know to give you any semblance of an answer. A pic or 2 of a couple of your jobs would help. Especially one of a before, so we can see what you’re facing. Any answer you get before supplying us with this info is pretty much meaningless.

@USAF4119 Gp high draw injector. Put that x jet in the tool box because it’s not a bad tool to have. The rest will depend on what you are cleaning and where you live. 2sh/3h20/ surfactant that measurement will vary depending on product. DO NOT USE GAIN.

I’ll get on it

South Alabama. I’ll upload pics later today. I’m doing a apartment complex with 5 units. Could be that my 5gpm pump just isn’t used to this big of a job

Appreciate the info. Any surfactant you would rank as the best?

Vinyl/ hardy board. Also I do lots of brick and concrete flatwork. I use the grey proportioner. Generally here in south Alabama the mildew is pretty heavy

Generally they come clean as a whistle. Dirt dobbers in high corners and a few rust and calcium stains will drive me nuts

Long as mildew coming off in 7 min or less, your mix is good. Rule of thumb, you spend 1/3 of your time soaping and 2/3 rinsing

That’s a helpful hint. 1/3 soaping 2/3 rinsing. That brings a little clarity to this job I’ve got. Thanks again

Make sure you know what you are doing, many degreasers are reactive to bleach. Never mix an acid with SH. It’s possible that the degreaser you are adding is neutralizing your SH or weakening it.

I have heard that Elemonator is a really good surfactant, I am getting a pail for Spring.

Not true but I can’t speak for whether it’ll degrade your SH quicker. That being said, adding degreaser isn’t a good idea and is not necessary when washing houses…hence why people stay stay away from dish soaps besides the fact they are not meant for washing houses. All you need to do is buy a proper DS injector and surfactant. Some people prefer pressuretek’s elemonator, some prefer southside’s snotmenade, etc. Do some research and make a decision of which one you’d like to try and buy a DS injector from the same site.

I’ve only been at this a year, but my 5.5/3500 and 2.1 injector will put about .8% SH on a house after 200’ of hose. That’s with 12.5% pool shock though.

Is 8% the strongest you can find?
