Yep, you definitely want a tandem axle if you’re using an IBC tote as your buffer tank. Good idea for any trailer setup, really.
Most guys here will recommend having one 8gpm machine vs two 4gpm’s. But you work with what ya got, right?
In any case, keep in mind orientation and spacing of:
- exhaust
- starter pull cord/switches
- accessibility for maintenance issues
If I were doing a rig as small as yours, I would strongly consider eliminating the chem tank and just having one rectangular SH tank, under 100 gals
- DS out of with a proportioning injector
- Roof cleaning/other applications use a proportioner

Yeah it will be tight but I purchased a 5x10 with capable towing capacity. It was one of highest rated in the United States.
