SOS...truck down

I think this one had almost a half million miles. I did blow a head gasket on the stock motor and put a junk yard motor in it when it had 180,000

Thanks everyone for all the input. In all reality, I’m probably stressing more than I should be but losing such an influential piece to my company puzzle is a blood pressure raising son of a B. I’ll give an update tomorrow. Again, thank you all. This forum helped start my company and now like many times before, is helping to keep it going. Thank you!

Just take a deep breath! We have all been in your shoes and it’s no fun! Sounds like your backup truck is very capable of pulling that trailer.

When I was a car salesman we had a Toyota Avalon with 350000 miles on it. Always been serviced at that dealership. Nothing but normal maintenance.
We covered the odometer and let customers drive it . If they could get within 10000 miles of the odometer we would give the another $1000 of there purchase. Nobody ever got close . Most people guess 100000 miles . It was amazing the car didn’t feel or sound much different than a new one .

They really hold up well. Once they hit 200k if you leave the struts stock they ride like an ol jalopie lol

Hit a good dip in the road and your still bouncing a mile later.

What about running temporary oil line to get u out of trouble without pulling engine, can u access inlet and outlet? I’m not a mechanic but sometimes I’ve had to make it work.

Not sure how you plan on fixing it, but a length of break line from o’reilly’s with compression fittings should do the job.

Had to be freeway miles

No way man it was a little old lady just drove it to get milk for her sick cat lol

The inlet is on the bottom of the engine with no access due to the cradle.

This is my tow rig. Picking up a 6x12 tandem axle enclosed in a few weeks. They are building it for my liking. This truck has a 8” readylift with 37s. I get 10mpg now. Can’t wait to see it with my equipment lol

I REEEEEEEAAAAALLLYYYY hope you re geared it. Stock gears on 37’s, and towing… no good. Lots and lots of extra stress on axles, ujoints, transmissions, transfer cases, torque converters, not to mention brakes.

You need 4.10’s at the very least, I’d recommend 4.88’s. Maybe even 5.13’s.
Big tires are kinda like putting a cheater pipe on a ratchet, except there’s no bolt to loosen! But lots to break, and burn up!!! I’ve been a lifted Jeep/truck guy for 25 yrs, it would take me days to tell you all the things I’ve broken :rofl:

That truck is to nice to be a work truck. Why not keep it as your personal truck and get something more practical and without all the silly add ons for you company truck.

Looks great!

I work a full time job as a production supervisor Monday through Thursday 10 hours a day. Pressure washing will be pulling in the money only on Friday and Saturday occasional Sundays. I plan to just throw in some seat covers and cleaning wipes before I go in it after a job. And weathertech foor mats are on the list. I haven’t re geared but plan on it very soon.

I had a f350 flat bed that I was using when I was working 5 days 8 hour shifts because I had time everyday after work to jump in the truck and take off. But now would rather not spend the extra on truck insurance which for some reason was outrageous and just hook up a trailer for the day. I also don’t have a garage to store the truck in and I have recently added new machines to the build and was scared for it to be weatherized
