Someone dope slap me!

Ha. Customer called and I was half a sleep wanting a gutter cleaning quote. She said her house was less than 1000# feet. I throw my minimum out. I get to site and it’s more like 1500-1600. Gutters are at least half way full with mulch and granules off of relatively new roof. No one’s fault but mine. I am going to honor my quote. Hopefully it helps my karma.

I know it’s the old school way but I always tell them that I have to look at the job before I can give an exact quote

Same here, just got a call for a trailer home with vinyl siding. Said I’d want to look at it first, gave a definite time this afternoon. Having been a window cleaner for 22 years, I’ve learned to just estimate over the phone but “firm up” the price when I get there. Sometimes it’s close, other times…nearly double because people have no idea what they have.

Honorable to stand by your quote but it was based on the wrong information. It’s a tough choice. You did the good karma thing but earned a customer that you may not want tomorrow.

Agreed. In this case it’s a 65 yo lady whose husband died from cancer 10 months ago and is being treated for breast cancer herself. I can afford to take a hit on this one. :+1:

Hmmm phone quotes will do that at times…some day chicken some day feathers…

Yeah that’s a tough situation. Lol… I personally would charge accordingly. Not your fault but I get why you’re doing it anyway. Kudos to you sir !

I’ve had a handful of of jobs that I’ve gotten jacked on. I’m there twice as long as thought and just went by pics. It happens. Then you have jobs that go so quickly you almost feel guilty. It seems to equal out somehow.

If that’s the case just do it and tell her it’s taken care of. I’ve found when I do things like that it always comes back to me. Sometimes people need someone to do something nice for them
