Soft-wash system test

Did you originally test the system by having one line in the water and the rest out of the bucket sucking air?

Well, I had just the water line in the tank and the SH stick was out. The valve was closed so shouldn’t have been drawing anything?

As promised, some pics…

Looks good. I would still think about putting 12v in some type of plastic container, something with some sides to it so that when it leaks, not going to get all over your nice trailer.

Thanks, I was considering a box but worried about overheating…

Doesn’t need to be enclosed, just something about the size of one of your wifes 9*14" baking pans. just a couple of inches high on the sides will be better than nothing. What usually happens is over time one of the connections may develop small spray or leak. Just a good sized tupperware box about the size of your upper platform. Put holes in the sides for hoses, heat not going to be a big factor as long as you have some space around it, say 6" top and sides, you will be fine.
Something like this, sure you can find some tote or something at HD

My 12v system is in a plastic toolbox for a truck. They come in all different sizes and they’re around $50. Drill a hole for your on/off switch and you’re good to go. I just leave the lid open when I’m using the 12v so air can circulate.

I fooled with the system again tonight, it sprang a good leak at the elbow out of the reel(again) so I caved and put some of that Water Weld on it…no more leak.

I’m now also getting an honest 4gpm and a measured 52’ of distance! I did have to increase the PSI some as the pump was cycling really fast.

Increase the psi on what?

I’m guessing he just turned the little allen screw to turn up the pressure switch setting on the 12v pump.

That’s what I figured unless he has an accumulator. Turning up pressure on pump not going to make it cycling less if he’s running it full on

It was making this paint sprayer cycling sound and pulsating, so I found a 1/16" allen key and adjusted it a bit so it would come out smoothly without doing that RRrrRrrrRR thing.

Finally used it on a 2nd story awning!

Just to be safe, maybe not have eventual sh leaks drip on a battery filled with acid which on top of corroding faster may also develop a leak? I would place the battery elsewhere.

I like your setup overall.

I actually have a cover for the battery box, but I also plan to put the pump in a plastic bin like they mentioned.

My next project is to make a platform for the supply reel.
