Soft wash setup opinions

:rofl::rofl: in Texas they wouldn’t bat an eye at it. Unfortunately, I’m in Arkansas and they’ll probably want to tax me to death on it.

I hear ya Texan. If you ever plan a trip down to the pacific region with your better half for a holiday after this covid BS be sure to let me know 2-3 weeks in advance. Accomodation and vehicle taken care of.

Hey don’t threaten me with a good time! I might just take you up on it lol if I can ever find time to take off that is. I expected to be shut down for winter by this point but the weather is still decent and the phone keeps ringing.

Are you having to winterize much?
I winterized once but I have another job next week so I’ll winterize again after that.

Not much. I had to last week because we had a cold snap but this week has been in the 40’s overnight so I haven’t. I’ve probably got another three weeks of washing and then it’ll get parked till March 1st when I fire back up and it’ll stay winterized that whole time.

If winterizing is a pain in the neck for you, it’s a real time saver to go ahead and get a permanent tank setup with a ball valve at the tank and another ball valve tied into your buffer tank plumbing. Just turn off the buffer tank, open both valves on the antifreeze tank, idle all the way down, let it run till you have solid green. Way faster and less messy than just dropping your buffer tank hose in a bucket of antifreeze.

If I have just one night in the 20s coming up, I’ll throw a heater on the pumps. My garage stays 10-20 degrees warmer than the outside temp so it’s more of a precaution.

But once 20s come on regular basis, I’ll winterize. Not worth the risk of the heater going out or the garage accidentally getting left open (children and all that, you know).

That’s what I have. It’s pretty easy. And I’m glad they set-up my machines like that.

Only way to do it in my opinion.
