What degreaser you been using? Looks like you’ve been scrubbing it some on the door pic. So results turned out good. Advantage of hot water is you’ll need a lot less scrubbing, if any doing them that often, and it will go faster on the cleaning. But good job with what you have.
I do a lot of commercial concrete and other than needing to pump spray right in front of doorways a little, I just usually downstream degreaser. If a real bad large dumpster pad where there a lot of heavy grease I’ll use my little Ryobi 12v sprayer to put on like a 50-50. A lot quicker than having to unroll and roll up another hose. Did a video review on it here about a year ago. But I use between 135-175 degree heat depending on how bad.
It’s handy for a lot of things but realistically if just a small area like you have in front of door I’d just pump spray it, let it dwell, for about 5-10min then downsrtream regular degreaser mix with warm water(about 125) and the grease will just break down, could almost just rinse off 1/2 the time.

Racer,
You should really consider buying one of the guns I use for house washing and pretreating concrete. Just carry it and one of those light, expandable hoses to hook to a spigot. You can screw a jug of degreaser on it and get 5:1 or higher, you can dial in exactly what ratio you want. Instead of spraying 1 gal/min or less with the Ryobi, you can put it down at 5 gal/min, or whatever a spigot can supply you. It’s really fast for pretreating and since it’s low pressure, you don’t have to worry about overspray. With the equipment you have, you won’t need it all the time, but for $100, it would be a great tool to have on you.

We need like a humor section around here :joy:

When I wash my dishes, hot water is so handy when it comes to knocking off the crud. It definitely replaces a lot of scrubbing & chemicals but there are plenty of folks here very experienced in your dilemma & more helpful than I can be. Aside from that, I love outside-of-the-box approaches & that device looks to be basically an X jet straight off the spigot. I’m sure I won’t buy one but I’m curious how high it will shoot. 2 stories? 3? Keep in mind… at some point, somebody broke ground & downstreamed a house for the first time. Anyone have a clue who made it happen or when it went down? I’m genuinely curious.

A lot of commercial buildings around here have limited outside spigots that work. I like that gun and have considered buying one but not for commercial. I average over 100’ of hose at most my commercial sites. Less than 2 min with a pump up takes care of 80% of them, then I just DS my commercial mix over the rest.

@Racer I’m curious, how long have you been up to this craziness? & when was the first time you heard of downstreaming? On the side note; thanks for sharing so much valuable knowledge & wisdom! I proudly show up with sack full of Racer advice to every job & have since day one. I wouldn’t be here quite like this without your help. Props to you sir! I owe you a hot pizza & a cold beverage.

That’s just cruel and unusual punishment.

I had pizza for breakfast today. I’m about to preheat the oven for round 2! I’ll bet a thin crust with double pepperoni from Pizza Hut would get you on the right track. Pizza is awesome.

Pizza is right up there with chicken as things that aren’t fittin to eat.

Easy there cowboy! We gotta keep this forum family friendly so we don’t offend the general public. At this point, I would have to deduce that you must eat steak for every meal, cause you don’t grab me as a vegan haha. Steak, and probably potatoes, with no butter, cheese, sour cream or anything else delicious. Are you a fan of chili?

About 7-8 years ago. Started off just doing roofs because after studying for about a year, figured out that was the most profitable niche. Still is. But pretty quickly evolved into doing everything. Usually people who had dirty roofs had other dirty stuff. Now roofs are maybe 10%, commercial, mainly concrete, about 40% and the rest just general stuff.

That’s awesome! Thanks for the info. I don’t do roofs & I’ve only had to turn a few down in this first year with no regrets (I despise heights) but they still hire me to do the rest of the job! So nobody misses out. Your flatwork video & your deck video helped me out tremendously to say the least. I put that knowledge to use as often as I can & I greatly appreciate you sharing. It doesn’t even come close to stopping there. Thanks a million sir! I hope your joints are handling the abuse better than mine.

I do like steak, but I eat a lot of deer sausage, pork chops and hamburgers. I’m not a big fan of chilli but I’ll eat it. I don’t really like wet foods. I’ll eat a chicken breast if my wife cooks it until there is no juice running out. Baked potatoes are perfect with tabasco and salt. Merita bread, lays plain potato chips and French’s mustard make an ideal sandwich. Pizza just doesn’t have a place in my life.

I’d say you’re suffering from a pizza / chicken withdrawals. Look me up if you ever get lost in East TN. I’ll make sure you get a good meal / steak on the charcoal / legendary bowl of chili / etc… Just depends on the advanced notice. Otherwise, I’ll gladly have the Pizza guy deliver you something you’ve been missing out on for a while: Pepperoni pizza with a side of hot wings! You deserve these finer things life has to offer. Someone should probably start a food thread as this has very little to do with ‘Soft wash setup options’ haha. Sorry dudes!

Real men don’t eat cardboard. I’m so sorry.

Haha, call me whatever you like! Doesn’t change the facts. So what’s for dinner today in Greenland / Iceland / New Zealand or wherever you’re chiming in from? You cooking on charcoal? Or do you have a delivery guy dropping off some non-cardboard pizza? Or is it some honey nut Cheerios?

But if you’re down to cardboard, I’d be glad to make a phone call & get you a pizza delivered. This forum has helped me out a lot & you’re definitely a big part of this forum.
