Soda can jewelry

Anyone here do any jewelry or art work with soda cans. My wife saved one of our sons diet Mt Dew cans in the fridge and it popped open last night. She is pretty sad about it and I want to do something with the can for her.

Nope, but I’m a live mannequin for my wife’s Mercantile shop.

Even got a guard dog for the high dollar yarn.

My wife’s in to all that stuff and knows alot about crafts , I’ll ask her for ya Mr Grump. You wanna send it to someone to have it done ?

Yes. I have no patience or skill for such stuff. Thank you for checking.

I’ll get with her tonight after work and see what she can do if that be alright with ya.

They have logo companies that make logo wraps for craft beer cans ect. Maybe get one made with his picture on it and wrap the soda can. Or come up with a cool soda name that incorporates him and put that on the can.

Unfortunately, the can split down the center.

I’ve done a small amount of repousse, and do wood burning and am learning engraving. Ide be happy to make a little keepsake for her.

Copper bracelet I’ve done, scroll down to see pics. My first engraved bracelet! - Album on Imgur

We cant do that kind of thing on can aluminum becauseits to thin, but we could come up with something I’m sure.

I actually had to google ‘soda can jewelry’, first I’ve heard of it.

I have no way to get intouch with this guy but he used to make roses out of soda cans and a piece of barbed wire.

There is probably a video showing how to make one.

This is what I have to work with. It can be a trinket, ring, just about anything. Justin always had one with him and kept two in our fridge for one he came over. If you can do something with it I’ll be happy to send it to you.

Send the top of the can as well.

Be cool if someone could turn it into a flower or something

@Innocentbystander I’m not sure if she would like it but you can get those tervis style cups you can put you own stuff in. If you cut the can and slipped it in the cup you could keep it forever and mix up your favorite drink.

Something like this would be cool for your wife, as a mini bracelet or something seeing as the can is quite small. Be nice to hang up somewhere bit too sharp to wear, easy to do as well you can cut cans with scissors. image

@Greenman Jon has graciously offered to take on the project. It can be a community thing and I’ll keep you posted with pics. Keep the ideas coming though because I really didn’t give him much to go on. Thank you guys

I used to make these wind catching deals with grandma as a kid. Unfortunately it can’t be split down the side. image

Yeah… no pressure at all right? But I’m positive I can make something presentable.

I’m thinking a flower with the can and maybe a pendant or bracelet with the tab.

You the boss , I personally wouldn’t touch that with a 10 foot pole , I’d be scared to mess it up . Good on ya Jon.
