Social Media has me questioning my set up

Recently picked up a 5.5/3500 set up. I was convinced that I could downstream for concrete with this set up until I could afford a soft wash rig to move to cleaning houses, roofs, etc. Now I’m seeing videos on social media with people cleaning houses with pressure washers, not soft wash set ups. I understood it that because of the pressure and SH ratio downstreaming, this wasn’t an option. Am I missing something or just don’t understand house washing?

yes. Spend a sometime on here searching, downstreaming, house wash mix etc. You can very easily wash houses with a 5.5 That’s what i started with.

I don’t mean this in a bad way… but this is a good example of how social media marketing has completely taken over for new people entering the industry… I’m not a veteran by any means (started 7 years ago), I learned a lot and still have much more to go; but the amount of social media (YouTube/instagram and now tik/tok) influence has grown exponentially. It feels like every week there’s a new “how to make $2000 in an hour soft washing houses” video being posted and it seems like the new people entering the industry flock to those videos… IMO for new people, social media causes way more harm than good; because as a new person, you will not be able to recognize the good info from the bad… not sure how much time you’ve spent on this forum (it is mostly a professional forum). But if you do some reading through it, you will find the answer to basically all of your questions as someone starting out. To answer your questions, no you don’t seem to understand house washing. Yes you can wash 90% of homes with downstreaming; and also yes, for some jobs you will need a stronger mix which will require a dedicated pump such as a 12v pump. Stay away from social media for a while and spend some time reading the forums.

whaaat, you mean to tell me I can’t make that per hour??

Jk but I see those clickbait titles recommended to me and go

Man is that backwards. Clean houses with downstreaming, use the ‘softwash’ setup for occasional bad spots on concrete, etc.
