My focus for this next year is using social media to elevate my online presence and enhance search engine optimization. Does anyone have experiences and advice they’d be willing to share with the group?
BTW, @squidskc, that YouTube Channel is KING. Good job! I hope you agree that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery because I intend to use your channel Squid's Pressure Washing LLC - YouTube as a template for my own.
To my primary mentor (man, was it great to finally meet you in person and work with you last week) @Racer, your YouTube channel Pro Clean Exteriors - YouTube is also a good model to emulate.
SO, come on guys! Link your YouTube channels here and let’s discuss the ways social media has promoted our businesses. Let’s help each other where it REALLY counts, in the wallet!
I’m with you. I know there is mixed opinions about Facbook and such but guys are making money from it and a lot of it is free advertising. At a minimum it’s like having yard signs out. I don’t have FB and actually don’t even understand 95% of how to navigate it. I have to use my wife’s and that’s how I linked my business page. I actually hate FB and all it’s shallow comments and kids validating their themselves by how many likes they get. I’ll stop that derailment.
I just bought this:
When I get through it all I’ll put up a list of tips if they are worth posting.
The key to organic social today is producing a lot of content. 20 plus pieces a day on Facebook, Instagram, tik tok, Twitter, LinkedIn, you tube.
I’m bad about it, but this season my goal is 20 pieces of content everyday. Whether it’s a few short videos for Facebook, a few pictures on Instagram, a blog on LinkedIn, and a few short clips on tik tok, a few videos on YouTube.
Easiest way is to just document what your doing throughout the day.
Paid social (Facebook) I’ve had a lot of success and plan on spending 4X as much as last year. I’m going to start hitting LinkedIn hard as it’s really cheap to get ads in front of property managers
How in the heck would you ever find time to eat or shower, much less bed down that special lady. I guess if that’s what it takes then I’ll come up with a way, but I’m with Infinity (and Beyond) that 5-10 per week is more than my competition is likely doing. BTW, how would I research wht my competition is doing?
From what all I’ve been reading, content is definitely the way to go and lots of it. But I agree, no way I have time to post 20 times a day or even half that. Well, and not sustain it anyway. I am trying to do better with this, and even looked into a media company that would handle all my social media and GMB but WOW, that’s not cheap!
20 is hard but really manageable if you have a phone and all the apps downloaded
2 short videos of Facebook
2 pictures on Facebook
Instagram stories with 5 pictures
Instagram with 2 short videos
LinkedIn 2 pictures with a short post
Google my business ( post everything from all the other social sites that day)
Twitter send out 2 tweets with a picture
Tik tok 2 post funny quirky videos
That’s 28 pieces right there, you can cross post if you want. Many times you’ll find different people on different platforms.
It should really only take you about 20 minutes to do all that
Although with older people on Facebook I’d focus on that & LinkedIn for property managers/ business owners if your hurting on time and know how
I read that posts are good but you need interaction with the people viewing it like. You need their comments and replies otherwise it loses it value. I read this in regards to Facebook only. I can’t comment on other sites.
… there you go, another stab at my ancient status again. You’re killin’ me here. I suppose I will just need to accept my status as the old fart (along with @Racer) of the forum. I see where you’re coming from there, but I took some video yesterday of a Home Sale Renewal I did and don’t have a clue what to do with it to get it on Facebook, much less link it to the BLOG that I am committed to start today.
After research and podcasts, I have set a goal for 3 videos a week and several posts per day. My research reveals that algorithmically, intelligent limits may beat high volume. I have decided to initially limit my efforts to YouTube, Instagram, and LinkedIn. ONCE THOSE ARE IN PLACE AND FLOURISHING, I will place a secondary emphasis on Facebook and a tertiary emphasis on the others. I will incorporate the best of our posts on the BLOG on my site.
I will seek out ways to have guests with a link to YOUR efforts, albeit your website if that’s the extent of your online exposure to share your/their experiences.
I will update the community as I progress. BTW, my NEXT information to the community will expose which of the services who take my money every month I’m dumping in the lean season, which I’m adding, which’re in danger because I don’t feel that they’re carrying their load.
