Soap in the water tank?

Tech fixing my rig (again. This time temp control unit that failed early on a “new” rig), accidentally put what he says was about a half gallon of soap in the tank. Doesn’t know what kind. They have an split valve system for filling soaps and waters into tanks here amd i guess some soap was in the hose still or so he says. He blames whoever filled up yhe soap tank for not running water through it.

can soap damage the pump? He ran it though while testing the burner. Sitting here waiting for them to run enough water through the tank to clear it all out but at 525 gallons it’ll be a while.

I cant imagine it would do any damage to the pump. I definitely wouldn’t turn the burner on until the soap is clear. Are you still using the shop that built the trailer for all your service?

Man that shop is terrible. First the poor electrical diagnosis, now this

Grudgingly yes. Burner went out again tonight so two nights in a row im leaving early on a quarterly shopping center flatwork job. Texted my sales guy about replacing tje entire unit or refunding entirely because of all the breaking parts on a new unit. No response. Still having some intermittent cavitation i can hear from the wand. When cleaning the white sealer between concrete slabs i can see it pulsating rapidly leaving little vertical lines as i make the pass with the wand.

Currently looking for another supplier in the event alkota honors the warranty and replaces this POS unit.

They flushed the unit and a some soap came out when starting tonight. Lasted for about 50 gallons out of the tank. Burner worked initially. Turned it off when I didn’t need it. Turned it on again when tackling tire marks on curbs. Turned it off again. Third startup the burner stopped lighting. Last two times it pooped the bed its been start/stopped twice and failed to light on the 3rd and subsequent tries.

I would contact actual Alkota instead of dealer. This may get the ball rolling faster in your favor.

I agree with Redjess. Consider making a call direct to manufacturer. How many hours have you put on the unit?

I called their warranty department and was told to go through the dealer. Might find the ceo on linkedin and email him. I’m so disappointed at the terrible build quality of alkota. They give a bad name to Made in the USA. Bolts holding the panel and other parts are constantly shaking loose, they don’t loctite them, the components are all failing early and based on date codes at least 5 years old. The dealer is pain but fact is this unit came defective from the factory. I’m basically replacing every single component each time I visit the shop until it’s essentially a rebuild. Still don’t known what’s causing the burner failure or the cavitation. It’s their job to diagnose this stuff right!?
