Soaking It All Up (Quick Questions Though)

^^^ what he said. Are you using a truck or trailer? Everything should stay in one place. The only thing you should be pulling around is your hose

I know! :sob: Iā€™m working on a better set-up! Iā€™m short on hose. Iā€™ve bought everything I just about need to do houses right, but itā€™s paralysis of analysis for me when it comes to the hose. Iā€™m convinced to go through United based on you and squidā€™s recommendation but Iā€™m confused on what to put on the ends.

And every time I think I know what Iā€™m doing, I read something which confuses me. You said in one post to someone else (if I remember correctly) donā€™t use quick connects. And I thought to myself, ā€œDonā€™t use quick connects? What else in the world would I use?ā€ So I realized I must be missing something.

But I knew if I asked, you and @anon37135677 would probably say, ā€œUse the search bar.ā€ :grimacing: And I was concerned Iā€™d drop $250 on hose and end up with something Iā€™d ditch in a year because I bought the wrong thing or wrong ends or something. Swivels, non-swivels, mosmatic swivels, no quick connectsā€¦makes my head spin.

Ahh. Makes sense!

Trailer. Itā€™s not pretty but Iā€™m making tweaks and itā€™s looking better and better.

When he said not to use quick connects youā€™re probably referring to a post where he said not use them where the hose connects to the hose reel. Any hose you buy will come with 3/8" npt male fittings and not quick connects. You add the quick connects on your own.

You can order from United Hose but supposedly their prices went way up so people stopped ordering from them.

As far as soap hose in bucket of clean water, in your case itā€™s more to flush the injector since you donā€™t have a buffer. Youā€™d have to keep filling the bucket up to keep it pulling the whole time youā€™re rinsing and isnā€™t worth the hassle.

Try using the bookmark to help you when your confused on a certain topic. That way you have it saved and can always go back to it. Have you purchased any hose reels yet? How big is your trailer

I think youā€™re right. That post might have been about hose reels. Then IBS said something about couplers in the middle of your hose run instead of normal connections and I got more confused.

Ahh. Now that makes sense and helps! So then you would add swivels to one end of the hose?

Argh.

So I didnā€™t realize for a long time that you could bookmark individual posts. So I was bookmarking whole threads. I think if the system tracked how many threads Iā€™ve re-read, Iā€™d hold the record. I know Iā€™ve spent more than a day reading stuff on here, but often times itā€™s re-reading the same thread, or referencing back to the thread to find info in the thread. When I realized I could bookmark individual posts, it was a breath of fresh air. I also keep a few Word docs that I copy and paste useful info from this sight. One is for equipment, one is for type of cleaners for certain stains, etc.

No hose reels yet. No judgment, please! :upside_down_face: It does make for a good workout after every job. lol. My first boss showed me a fast and efficient way to effectively role up pw hose. I can do it pretty quickly. My boss never used a hose reel so I guess I just thought that was the way to roll (pun intended ). But trust me, I realize when I get more hose length, Iā€™ll need a reel.

The trailer is a whopping 4ā€™ x 6ā€™. I was at the local pw store and a guy was there with his rig. Never thought I could be jealous of something like that! But I was!

Itā€™s a lot easier to just call me or someone else on the forum. I answer the phone from 5am to 6am Mon they Thur if you need advice. After that calls just go to voice mail and I check them when I need to fill in a gap in the schedule if I donā€™t recognize the number

Is that Eastern time?

Now that is cool!

From everything Iā€™ve read the past two months, you are blunt and straight-forward, filled with tons of knowledge, ready to help people, have a dry sense of humor (which I love) and you even have a soft-side to you.

Iā€™ll take you up on your offer! Can you pm me your number? And which time zone are you in? Iā€™m hoping Pacific but guessing itā€™s Eastern or Central which means Iā€™ll be waking up extra early at some point.

Thanks!

Lol. First time I ever got this notice.

Jumped on the website. You have to request a quote which I just did. Thanks again.

This thread turned into a bunch of gold. Appreciate all, and thanks @qons for asking all the questions I didnā€™t know I had  ā€“ also, looks like Iā€™m just across the river from you in Metro East Illinois.
